But what of its passage?
From your factories vapor

To Angering Pollution
Bribery not solution
It begins in barricading,
Anger, fear and then persuading,
Keep on beating,
Hearth and heating.
Face looks red and
Head overblown with intense containment.
I bubble up with the thoughts,
Sighs and shock at what they’ve brought.
Though hope of formation is lost,
Cascading thought of being
Part of such that, not conceding,
Is hurt of needing,
And creates a darker cushioning
For me to rest my head.

Rudderless winds swirl on high
Orange, yellow, red leaves
twirl as they fall from the sky
Form carefree circles
before they touch down
on crisp-scented predecessors

The day wanes; a chill is felt
a bloom, flushed-red
O'er tingling cheeks overspreads
One last heroic leap into
a leafy pile
Then skip indoors to the fireplace
to warm up for a while
Refraction's slanted sunrise colors your
Eyes, as you fashion and refine the
Mosaic mirrors of your mind
Iridescent icicles of Christmas sleigh rides
Nights by the hearth, wrapped in each other's warmth
Intimate fragrant hush tracing
Springtime's delicate blush
Cloud softened cardigans
Embroided with memories of water lilies
Nostalgia's lakes of slowing ebbing aches
Cushioning the sharp
Empty corners of your heart.
