Leaves Twirl

~ Fall's Frolic ~ Rudderless winds swirl on high Orange, yellow, red leaves twirl as they fall from the sky Form carefree circles before they touch down on crisp-scented predecessors cushioning the ground The day wanes; a chill is felt a bloom, flushed-red O'er tingling cheeks overspreads One last heroic leap into a leafy pile Then skip indoors to the fireplace to warm up for a while

I like the way that you have fun and frolic in the midst of Autumn/fall. Life and death mingling together in a playful and amusing way. Nicely written.

A really nice picture of a day in this in-between season, painted wit your usual skill in effective use of simple (’unpoetese’) language. [Note: I can’t stand those poems - not yours - that read as if they were made by a computer let loose in a thesaurus]

You mean the poems with the ontological-teleological nuances, juxtapositioned with perspicaciously crafted subliminal meanings, interwoven with a plethora of dissonantly striking oxymoronically profound flibbertygibbits? I'm with you, my friend. I don't like those kind of poems, either. ~ Cranking it out here in Chicago :)

Nicely written Gershon. With autumn well behind us, we are on the cusp of new greenery and a host of colours. The wind has been shocking the past two months though - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

Ah, I can empathize with all that wind, Lindsay. After all, I'm from (and still live in) Chicago, 'The Windy City.' Of course, it's named that for the politicians (ha!), amazingly enough... At any rate, here's to less wind and fewer Chicago politicians as well! :) gw

they are pretty to look at i admit but then they make good kindling for the fire, and nothing smells better than a fireplace as it crackles on a crisp fall day...nice one:) hugs

Thank you for such a poetic comment. Brought a smile to my face on this chilly Chicago evening. Warm(!) wishes, Gershon P.S. Your wonderful comment has inspired a little haiku, which I'll be posting in the next 15 minutes. Thank you so much!! :)
