Crosswords
they wreck our brains
with cunning cryptic clues
that we solvers seem to find so
puzzling...

Premium Member Quest For Space a Clue
Listen to poem:
A neverending compulsion.
The more space you have,
the more you want to fill it up.
Just take "uu" from "vacuum"
and add it to "continue",
"mm".

Funny Man
Do you watch the television and sip champagne
and listen to the grass being cut by the robot brain

To fill your free time have you taken up finishing crosswords and sex
needing advice for being so bored gifted avoiding death a hanging flex

Machines there promised to serve us
we now serve the machines

Late night joke honest !!...

Nighttime Bliss
Nights once amiss
Now birth cerebral bliss
Evenings belong to caring for Oneself
Lovely potions and Serums lining the shelf
A cup of steam next to a Lover dreaming
Worries now a focus of mind-clearing
With crosswords or How-to's
Or dreams of grand designs
Where every piece has it's place to go
Tomorrow's woes belong to tomorrow...

I only want to play with you
I only want to write with you
I only want to read what you do
I only want to listen to what you do
I only want to do crosswords with you
I only want to drink the tea that you do
I only want to work on things with you
I only want to do everything with you
It's a dream I know may never come true
But what's not a dream is my love for you...

A Letter To My Body
Dear Body, I don't know if you have heard
My eyes are going blurred, it's absurd
Now I can hardly read crosswords.

Aches and pains every time it rains
Arthritis running through my veins, please explain
How I wish, you could refrain
I need my youth to remain.

This thing called old age
Have me writing you a letter of complaint
Dear body you have to agree
Old age is a pain....

Humdrum
Reading, eating, watching, writing –
Such is life, not too exciting.
Cleaning, texting, sewing, walking,
FaceTime phone calls or just talking.

Hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling –
Nothing lately’s so compelling.
Solving crosswords and debating
How much longer we’ll be waiting.

Writing, watching, eating, reading –
All the basics that I’m needing.
Walking, sewing, texting, cleaning –
Man, I’m sick of quarantining!...

CHRIST spoke while on the cross

RELIGION kills, but relationship heals

OUR savior offered prayer of forgiveness

SALVATION was given while on the cross

SATISFACTION was achieved on the cross

WORLD'S salvation was made available

OFFENSES against God were fully paid for

REDEMPTION was accomplished completely

DEEDS of the law and self righteousness: Nullified

SINS: Fully covered by Christ's blood on the cross

Poems using internal rhyme I write them all the time
It is a way to express and sometimes to confess
I write them in my own way and make a point with what I say
Poetry Soup has many contests, man I hope I win cuz I really want this
You do crosswords for fun, I write poems of the run
This is the first try at internal rhyme sorry I lied in the first line
If you like writing poems too keep em coming and I’ll read them soon....

You say I'm crazy. I say, Crazy is in the eye of the beholder. You laugh madly; you must know something I don't. You dance on magazines like a puppet. I parse crosswords for knowledge. Whatever mysteries coil in your mind to fill the cracks and pass for knowing are hybrids emptiness has spawned. I will never know your gods nor you my demons, but I'm glad: I don't want you here; your laughter chills my soul.

Hold the door open
Pull out your chair
Give you my jacket
Comb your brown hair
Cook you a banquet
Play you a song
Listen when speaking
Offer my arm

Wrap you in afghan
Slippers on feet
Make you fresh coffee
Talk to you sweet
Write you a poem
Hug you when sad
Warm up your car
Set up iPad

Help you choose music
Edit your docs
Crosswords together
Aran wool socks
Let you control
Think the world of
Respect your decisions
Quietly love...

Rainy Day Reflections
Took my morning walk beneath
A slow but steady rain,
Protected by my new umbrella,
Carried not in vain.

Changed into relaxing clothes
At home and passed the hours
Catching up on reading, sheltered
From some piercing showers.

Packed my suitcase for a trip
And solved some crosswords, too.
A rainy day’s the perfect time
For things one needs to do.

I could accomplish just as much
If sunshine filled the sky
But in that case, to be indoors
I couldn’t justify....
