There’s something
‘Bout strawberries
That I
Really like,
So I likes
To pick one
And then take
A big bite …...

the room is all aglow
feel the warmth from the fireplace
sitting upon the mantle
a vase, Cornwall blue in color
within it, seemingly translucent
a bouquet of neon daisies...

They dug a pit in the clay
To mark the Millienium day,
Creating five large biomes
To house earth's plants in global homes

Premium Member Cornish Identity
I think of my Cornish identity,
As on a cliff-top bench I sit,
And realise that Cornwall is a part of me
And I am a part of it,
I won’t be taken out of Cornwall
And you can’t take Cornwall out of me,
Though I gaze at far off horizons,
I know Cornwall is where I will stay
And is where I am meant to be....

Premium Member Cornish Tradesmen
Now, Cornish tradesmen do a proper job,
But they might not do it straight away,
For if they say they’ll do it ‘dreckly’,
There might be a slight delay …!

NB: Although the ... English ‘directly’
       and the ………... Cornish ‘dreckly’
sound very similar, they are poles
       apart in terms of meaning!...

Family
Mum's gone now
and Dad's all alone,
rattling about in the family home.
Can't get in touch with the silly old bugger,
my sis is worried,
I'd love to hug her
but she's in Cornwall
and I'm in Wiltshire.
A fair few miles
just to see her.
My Bro is also not so near
but in my heart,
I hold so dear.
I hope that Dad's
not had a fall!
I'd better check
I'll make that call....

Premium Member Trapped
Do you feel like a trapped spider
In an upturned glass?
Do these feelings come and go,
Do you think that they might pass?
Have your insecurities and doubts
Expanded into fears?
Have these anxieties deepened
And increased in recent years?

Well …
You need much more self-belief,
Your courage you must amass,
For the cure is in your own hands,
Only you can break the glass …...

Cornwall
I await with bated breath to stand on the shores
The land where my mother's last name bores
To watch a blade of grass that he may have sowed
Or watch the waves crest on the among the crowd
To visit the place that he docked
That long voyage to start where he rocked
Distant clouds the ones I see
They may have been the same ones that set him free
I'll never meet the man that started it all
But I'll feel his presence all around home in Cornwall...

Premium Member Cornwall Is My Homeland
Cornwall is my homeland
And it will always be,
A large part of it surrounded,
Surrounded by the sea.

Cornwall is my homeland,
It’s where my roots are deep,
And this connection with my forbears,
I feel a strong desire to keep.

Cornwall is my homeland,
Of me it is a part,
For it resides within my soul
And is branded in my heart.

Cornwall is my homeland,
It’s where I will always stay,
And when my days are over,
It’s where I will surely lay....

Watergate Bay
Inspired by walking on Watergate Bay in North Cornwall, England

	My beautiful Atlantic muse
	of deepest, turquoise blue,
	roaring forth your issue
	newly crowned with champagne hue

	The sea’s explosive theatre
	devoid of human hand,
	such a beautiful creation
	of faceted golden sand

	Closed eyes and salty lips
	quenched in the sun’s embrace,
	no need for riches here
	in Mother Nature’s grace...
