The Religious Leaders

We can’t depend on
The religious leaders
They don’t know the Truth
But they preach for their living
They are now commercial

Most Are Lost

Are you the movie or the commercial,
the story or its cost

The question quite subversive
—in its drama most are lost

Hurried Holidays

Once again we find the holidays upon us
Earlier and earlier we simply confess
     Thanksgiving's not here
     Retailers do sneer
Such is the life of commercial excess

Premium Member my feelings about tv commercials

TV commercials interest me now
I can watch the same one nine times in a row
And still not know what they are selling
Is it my age? My eyesight? My hearing?
Or are commercial writers really bad now?

No commercial interruption
In my head
Never any breaks
When I dream
Makes me want
To holler
And scream
No censorship
No computer chips

Premium Member The Super Bowl Winner

Who is the big winner of the game.
We watch to see who is the big name.
The truth can’t be denied,
that no matter the tide,
the half time commercial gets the fame.

Pill Pusher

Pushing some narcotics,
of yellow, red and green.
A rainbow of biotic’s,
to match the color scheme.

I have an abundance of diuretics
all different shapes and sizes.
An organized aesthetic
for commercial enterprises.

Different Kinds of Beauty

There are beauties
that don't resist,
don't even survive...
Distorted beauties
of the commercial songs...
beauty of doubtful tastes
of addictive repetitions...
beauties that don't
remain wonderful... are
only imposters...!

Premium Member Commercial Destruction

the
thick message
competes with reality,
 pulls us like string puppets,
wags the tail of truth,
prevents positive emotion,
obscures historic changes,
stopping time....
....slowing progress

value

Quails

                          Nice birds
                  They're not predators
                       To other birds
                         Their eggs
           Are for commercial consumption
                  Flourish them instead.

Text Talk - Not

This text talk won’t last, it’s just a fad
Unsolicited text made me mad

Why should I pay for a commercial?
Now to me, it’s not controversial

My Cell phone provider and I talked
Now incoming text will all be blocked

Premium Member Are You All Right?

I opened my page and said
"What the heck!"
One more of my poems
Won't make me sick.
I can't speak for you
So if it does.
Just wait a few minutes
And a Medical commercial may come on
Just take one and click me off
And your day may be better off.

Premium Member Tv Is Boss

TV pushes me into a recliner
Droning and dribbling in monotones
Stressing me at a subconscious level

I remain morbidly unaware
Eating potato chips with dip
Not understanding the damage

TV increases her volume
Sixteenth commercial
Amazingly I pay no attention

I Love

I love your style, I love your flow,
Love how you listen attentive, to things you don't know,
I love your fingers,I love your toes,
How you play in my hair, design my corn-rows,
I love your commercial,I love you show,
I will be your co-star,forever our love will grow....

Round and Round

The tiny weeny bug trekking upon my screen,
For the light he is keen
Not bothered by a random commercial
Continues on in a circle.
Many people are like you little bug
Think it’s natural to do
Around and round and round
If only we knew-
Would we do the things we do?

Premium Member Reading

Reading a book is better than TV. Not one commercial will you ever see. Open the cover and turn the pages. Read the words of wisdom from sages. There is a great treasure you will find. Reading everything improves your mind. Inspired by another member's poem

Premium Member Romantic

Romance is grand, that is the tack.
Of course it's all commercial ruse;
Merchants to turn books red to black
And cause us wallets to abuse.
Not one device of foe nor friend
Tallies the losses less than gain
In funds when love comes to an end:
Cash down the unsuspecting drain.

WE WEAR SHORT SHORTS!
four really pretty teen girls.
A happy singing commercial created in the eighties.

I was stunned by their enthusiastic joy and prettiness.
I cannot remember what they were selling.
Maybe panty hose?
But I still sing their jingle fifty years later.
