Lavender mountains
Backdrop to a gorgeous pond
Lacy silvery clouds
Sigh of appreciation
The joyous heart feels home
Shadows on a cave wall,
eyes that look for truth
Figments of what sight denies
—dancing resolute
(Durango Colorado: September, 2004)

An explosive mind
Death-filled actions without heart
The day the world found out
Dedicated to all of the victims
of Aurora, Colorado
Adolph Coors
brewed something everybody pours.
He started a brewery in Golden, Colorado.
His legendary beer was a product so many people got to know.
Colorado had never looked this beautiful
She is a scary, treacherous state
so many fathers have killed their whole family
but at least we have the mist a survivor said
Thus Spoke Brother Moji
(not Zarathustra)
With all due respect,
irrespective of
with regards to
I have no respect
for irregardless.

For me,
one time is not enough
Canyons widen
neath mountain bluffs
For me,
each time lay unforeseen
Magic transient
—a richer dream
(Montrose Colorado: September, 2021)
Let's do something this summer.
Let's not.
Let's go to Virginia.
Let's not.
Let's travel.
Let's not.
Come to see me in Colorado.

Cuddly wuddly duddly scuddly mountain bear
Sitting with a bouquet of flowers in the Colorado air
Who are you waiting for, sitting there with glee.
Will the butterfly balloon go to your friend Ms. Lee?

cloudy sky
hovers above
spaghetti western
invokes echo chamber
of Ennio Morricone
I fancy horseback through prairies
pistols hidden beneath old ponchos
a fistful of dollars to the victor
The West changes you…
its wind blowing
distant and near
A promise you
had always meant
to keep
A feeling
better gifted
than kept
A memory
forever waiting
—unknown
(Limon Colorado: July, 2019)
Colorado spruce
Towering eagles' aerie
Greets glorious dawn

Where do you go
at the end of your dreams
Where do you go
when the daylight moves on
Where do you go
once your voice has run dry
Where do you go
—when tomorrow is gone
(Pagosa Springs Colorado: July, 2019-Rewritten 2-23-2021)
Corona Cow had a dream of delight.
She wanted to dance ballet day and night.
Her pink tutu was especially made.
She danced from Colorado to an Everglade.
In 2020 asked to change her name.
Because of the pandemic virus named the same.
The reindeer vacationed in Denver
For three weeks well into December
No magic dust needed
To fly – they were “weeded”
But flight plans they couldn’t remember

Colorado winters are rather nice,
Except for that confounded snow and ice!
But come the next spring,
The season will bring,
Balmy weather and sunshine to suffice.

moving slow and fast
flows through beautiful landscapes
~reaches destiny~
nature's masterpiece
envolves views beyond the sun
~beauty embraces peace~
red, blue or golden
~the long snake slithering down
along the unknown~
The sun is already tired
but still standing
prepares its bed
in the West ...
A lightning bolt
colorado opens
the crack in time
and touches the breast
of pm...
My gaze captures
the last rest
fleeting sun
that carving on me
the face of
red color
that on me rests ...!
The open West is an iron lung
for the polio of my soul
Lifting me up and breathing in
at once to make me whole
Wild and free, its air blows clean
to minister my wounds
And nurse me back to perfect health
—a second none to soon
(Durango Colorado: February, 2019)
Again another desperado
showed his true color in Colorado.
Could this be a macro effect of tobacco?
Lord help U.S in the heart of Colorado
Which has lost every art of a commando.
This hit wasn't like a tornado
But like an inferno
A sincere bravado.
Avocado will you grow again?
There was this teal duck and Canada goose,
That 'neath a cloistered Colorado spruce,
Enjoyed a lusty-ful tryst,
Ending up in a quaint twist!
Their offspring sported feathers of chartreuse!
