The nights grow even
colder when I realize
I've spent too much time
screaming at your shadows and
waiting for a miracle
Take away my words,
I'll mime my way to your heart
By now you can tell
My feet aren't getting colder,
They are running next to you
old snow vanishing
as shorter shadows brighten…
all that lies hidden
suddenly the colder nights
more welcome than expected
Hair gets lighter,
Skin gets darker,
Water gets warmer,
Drinks get colder,
Music gets louder,
Nights get longer,
Life gets better!
Good Fahrenheit's seventy-two
If colder than that I turn blue
Without any heat
I get numb hands and feet
And sneeze with a runny ACHOO!!!
Aching sorrow
for winter tomorrow
colder than dead leaves under frost
feeling bitter
about the winter
when all souls cry out to be lost
The stage is warm and yet colder
The past round my neck as a boulder
I sit and I think
Do I need a drink?
Would I have done well to have told her
Winds blow on darkened nights.
Frost covered landscapes emerge;
colder times to come.
Colors woven everywhere,
brightly painting the canvas.
The children knew right from the start
Their teacher was born really smart
So from the get-go
They wanted to know,
"What's colder than Donald Trump's heart?"
Memory kills time,
as time kills life…
Faster than a paid assassin,
colder than a dream that’s stolen
—surer than the tax man knows
(Dreamsleep: March, 2022)
Much colder than a wind chill factor
causing chaos in the silence;
Do not underestimate
the blizzard inside of
a Capricorn growl;
Unassuming
and polished
shell of
gall.
Reached mountain top, snow falling,
getting colder, lost my rope,
nowhere to go, but down,
running out of food, no
matches left, thin air
doing me in.

darkness grows colder
lovely things begin to fade
busy season wanes
the world sighs in slow relief
ready for winter's retreat

Eight billion miles away,
the asteroid grows colder
as the one inhabitant
who has no god, falls to his knees
and blows upon the spark of light
he sees from one retreating,
distant star.

I love when it’s colder;
put on two pork shoulders,
the size of small boulders,
to smoke and to smolder.
(three if I’d been bolder)
It is a true soldier,
but likely won’t hold her.
Bang bang
pipes expanding
Kids awaking
an early morning
Turned down the dial
for a peaceful night
An extra hour
no such delight
It made no difference
why did I bother
I'm still grumpy
just even colder
the mystery of the unknown
just got sweeter
as what was known
became obscure
with each second passed
the soup of the explicit
just got colder
as the room we were in
turned hot
with each conversation held
evening touches souls
though winds may be far colder
birds get much closer

The heart off sanatorium
Broke a little in a winter time
cause it went alone
and this is how that ends
fixed with cement
too late for a plaster cast
now weighing a bit more
and colder too
but
matter of practice
This day of Autumn shivered
And then did sneeze.
A thousand gold-leafed foiling
Of birch, beech spilt.
Soon, and colder, will it be
Known for its wheeze.
What from off each bough, dance-frozed
Spooks finch's lilt.
Imperfection is beauty, flaws are art,
Purity is overrated, failing is understated,
Strange is innovative,
Battle scars make a soldier,
Perfect makes the heart colder,
Make mistakes, miss a shot,
Dare to fall, dare to try.

I once held grudges but I’m done so it’s over
Finally, you can stop looking over your shoulder.
Wisdom came as I got older.
The hate is the weight of a bolder.
It won't take my pain away, it only makes me colder
Form:
Gorgeous is in the eye of the beholder
I find it in those we call ‘she’
Ruddy, brown, black, pinkish white (where it’s colder)
Large, petite, buxom or wee
She’s beautiful; intrinsically
Dead was only ever paid to me
from every woman lost
Where all I ever knew of them
was colder than the frost
That everywhere I went for them
was always ever lost
When everything they gave to me
was from a cloth of cost
Darkening skies blast colder challenges; the wise meet them with grace.
What brings hardships, shapes character; builds strength.
Face challenges well and be the best you can; success is yours.
