Myopia of Life
We are sort of short-sighted
when looking at the life we live .
That's why we stumbled in time,
delaying progress itself...
Clogging up our mission,
of development... !...

The Toilet Dream Speaks the Truth
I had a dream
Where all my clothes
Were in my toilet bowl
Clogging it.

Apparently this means that
I am drenched in emotions
Which need to be released
And expressed,

So I wrote
This poem....

Premium Member Amused Owl
Amused owl was enjoying his day in the best of circumstances.
He had memorized some chants, some clogging and dances.
His attitude and humor was on fire, he was doing lively prances.
Some sourpusses were giving him disdaining eye glances....

Premium Member Peek-A-Boo
A shy sun plays peek-a-boo with clouds clogging the sky; and barring its path. Dyed in shades of grey; they gather like sheep, clustering overhead; grazing on blue skies. And soon, melancholy tears, morph into raindrops.

Pencil Sharpener
Pencil Sharpener

My pencil sharpener (my pencil shavings like to
get high on the
bubble of
air clogging up
the run of liquid in
the pipes) was designed to
absorb my screams of
extreme anger. Also designed to
absorb my
strained whispers.

Camping
Logs burn
and flames blaze,
licking at the wind,
spastic and crazed.

Sparks jump
and smoke trails,
clogging lungs
upon inhales.

Campers laugh
and begin to croak
some silly song
about the forest folk.

Trees sway
from roots to branches,
hovering quietly
as the fire dances....

Your Flight Home
I went home alone
After you left,
Cloaked in my own darkness
While Clogging memories
Of your smile
Accompanied me on
The night time drive
Tinged with lonely sadness.

Later I found your hair
In the bathroom,
Beautiful strands of
Discarded gold
Which I framed
Along with your tears
That had bejewelled
My heart....

Premium Member Nor'Easters
Winter heaves, and a blizzard forms, clogging the roads with ice and snow. Temperatures fall below norms while wintry winds wantonly blow. Tow trucks struggle with cars in tow when a winter nor'easter forms. But kids just hope their bus doesn't show, for some schools stay closed for snowstorms.

The Circle
A sea shanty to skip to,
an Irish jig hot footing
on clogging stones
heels and knees
chasing swinging hands,
jazz jiving just for fun.
Don't do much
of any of that stuff now,
unless I sleep,
then I jump into a circle dance -
rewind, age, sinew and limb,
recall again
that there is always a Spring,
in late December....

Hair
Baby soft
Down on the pillow
Soon to grow again
Longer
Between barber visits
Oh those CUTE curls
Or straight lines
Getting in slit eyes
Combing the Earth's
Thick plantations.
Later
In the looking glass
Thinner
The mirror cracks
But then
Who wants fat hair
Clogging the drains
Of the Solar System?

June, 2010....

Blurred Pastures
Pull yourself up from the mud
Its clogging the lines between
Dreams and reality
Our spirit has started to flood
The third eye's been blinded
The future pleads to fall behind me
There's plenty of pleasure
Waiting on the other side of the pasture
I'll find that laughter
I've been after
Find that smile
That's been tryin to hide...

Impending Doom
Sensing impending doom
might be happening soon
a tidal wave comes crashin
straight up typhoon.
urgency upon us
calling out to father
need a savior, he's the one
he runs to help and guide us.
The air gets thicker
time ticking quicker
lights seems to flicker
doctor i feel sicker.
Throat clogging up
grip gets tighter
feeling caught in the crosshairs
yet im still a fighter...

Premium Member Our Little Briar Rose
Diamonds on her fingers. Diamonds in her nose.
She’s dancing in the street, our little Briar Rose.
Her hair is a twirling, as if it is glittery and on fire.
Her energy is amazing; she will never tire.

The neighbors are smiling, and stamping their feet.
They love our Briar Rose, her clogging can’t be beat.
Some run out to join her. They are having so much fun!
It’s amazing to watch our daughter turning everyone!...

Premium Member Not That Betsy
O, do you remember sweet Betsy from Pike?
She trekked ‘cross the prairie in search of a dyke.

She developed incontinence in Illinois;
She was cured of what ailed her by a strange nether boy.

Well, she only spoke German and he only spoke Dutch,
But the way that he plugged holes, didn’t need to speak much.

She’s sworn off the women, and forsaken the booze;
They’re now clogging in Portland in some fine wooden shoes....

Perfume and Gasoline
I met you once,
  in dreams of youth;
flushed with curves,
  wide open in summer's sun;
toothy smiles,
  innocent wiles;
laid out patches,
  of perfume and gasoline;
blazed across the endless miles,
  of then...and now;
years burned down,
  chromed dull in faded glory;
yellowed hollow,
  seasons past;
of governed throttle,
  clogging choke;
the boy,
  like you;
left back now,
  far behind;
dusty,
  in a poem....

Faint
Amidst the smog
That wraps your city
Clogging the view
above the horizon
Of skies beauty
There is still one star left
that you see
And in your heart's ear
it whisper:
Amidst the intense smoke
that hids the multitude
Of other
hope and light giving company
I'm still here
to light and guide you
On your way
Yet I may be so faint
But the vision of your soul sees
that this faint light
is enough
To lit extinguished hope
to blaze again
in your cold heart!...

Just Another Day At the Beach
9/11, so long ago now.
The towers forever falling,
yet we the young
play beach volley ball
on the Jersey shore
and have no history to trouble us.

This calendar red-letter day
slips by us mostly unnoticed.
Our parents mention it
over breakfast coffee.
Old people just can’t let go of the past.

They keep seeing the planes
the falling bodies, the flames,
the terrible mouth clogging ash.

We think they should get out more,
play a little beach volley ball....

Paper Or Plastic
Plastic hearts, plastic smiles
plastic cars driving plastic miles
plastic forks, plastic knives
filling landfills, clogging lives
chemicals seeping
apathy deepening
while were sleeping
God is weeping
the smothered earth cries
under heavy, gray skies
time for every industrialized nation
to change for future generations
rid the world of a devastating cancer
when asked this question,
find the right answer
paper or plastic?

For Paper or Plastic contest (Susan Burch)
Third place...

Broccoli
Vile vertian growth of no delight
Who will not pass beyond the craw,
Whose colour is unnatural bright,
No twig do I detest the more.
Dispatch you! For you will not sate
For hunger I would rather greet,
Your clogging florets gag the pate’
Your presence? It insults the meat!
From whence you came I do not know
You are naught upon the tongue,
A plague on those, your seeds, do sow
O rot in ground, be done!
Vile vertian growth of no delight
Be banished, ever from my sight....

Lost Ones
Fire on the mountain and smoke in the sky,
red embers floating then settling in dry timber
crackling like crunching bones goes on forever
howling in the distance of lost homes, lost ones
thick charred air choking, clogging breathing
throats singed, black blood emerging
closer and hotter, confusion, no way out
fate deciding its own course
angry nature consumes her evening meal.
