I'd turn the other cheek, but here's the thing
that cheek's been slapped before, and there's the sting
Eileen Manassian
She tried desperately to remember her dream
frantically trying to seek
the reason she awoke this morning
with a tear upon his cheek.
A grocery shelf in Soup Creek
Has been vacant throughout the week
With Pinkerton care
Now Vegemite's there
Tom's living on bubble & squeak?
Stan Jex would have had a great physique
only problem was it wasn't complete.
Doctors were confounded
totally dumbfounded
to discover Stan had only one cheek.
There are those ladies of an acquired taste
Who happen to let rip with no disgrace
No warning of intention
And no one dares to mention
That lady with a smirk on her face
probing my cheek
a mild breeze
released
from icy clutches
for a spell
ducking inside
i rushed to return
vanished
the breeze
no guarantees
Why can't we walk up to a girlie on the street
Take them in our arms and peck em on the cheek
Rules rules rules
As we drool drool drool
Also, don't see the harm in asking for a peek
Very often write with my tongue in my cheek
Strange saying that is, but when I'm at my peak
My humour is best
Pound away on my chest
Like Tarzan, eat bananas and things that go, “eek!”
As we dance cheek to cheek
You make me smile chin to chin
My fingers tracing the smooth edges of your rounded face
spewing ecstasy enveloped without trace
As we dance cheek to cheek
You make me smile chin to chin
Here's the 'Poem of the Day'
If it's not selected, it's not OK
It rhymes in time, truly chimes ~
Whooshing on down the runway

Preaching to the choir
one more like will do
Beating the last dying horse
postings stay as new
I’ll read yours if you’ll read mine
lined up in the queue
I’ll say yes if you agree
— who is kidding who
(The New Room: March, 2024)
I kissed this days rosy cheek and it lifted
me up in its branchs opening the door of
my heart taking away my sadness-
my anger,my enemy thoughts-destroying all
so that i may rise from the ash smiling
and radiant,again humbly human.California blue
Raindrops refract sunlight to form
A rainbow
A teardrop refracts sunlight to form
A colored bubble
So,when l see teardrops
Running down your cheek
I would say
Don't cry baby
Cheer up
I have seen a teardrop
With a colorful rainbow
(a bright tomorrow)
Only in time do I see it unwinding
Its like I’m searching for something I’m not finding
So cliche but Ive really I’ve been trying
And straight to my face you’ve been lying
I don’t believe you or really any words you speak
It’s okay I forgive you and I’ll try to turn the other cheek
I love the mornings
That is the best time to rise
The purest part of day.
I’m an early bird
No one else is awake yet
I smell my coffee
The quiet of mornings
Is when I'm most connected
A sacred time for me
I wake it’s still dark
I feel refreshed and ready
And kiss morning’s cheek
Appreciated morning time friend.
Despised morning time enemy.
Always knowing when to chime in.
Never knowing when to shut up.
Piercing the calm.
Then teasing peace, but only for a short while.
Liking to hear itself speak.
Can't hear myself think.
Alarm clock....
Oh, dreaded alarm clock.
I wanna stop this painful thought’s storm
I wanna write this song with rhythm
I wanna dance with you cheek to cheek
I wanna love you more every week
I wanna sing a song for you tonight
I want peace baby I don’t wanna fight
You are precious than a piece of art
I wanna hide you inside my heart
M-orn eighth February breaks,
A-fter the twilight is gone;
R-ising sun starts to shine
I-n the break of dawn.
L-et early Wednesday warm
Y-our soul and your heart;
N-o more mist and haze, as the shadows depart.
M-oment of bonding happens
O-nce in every week;
N-ice they are together, sitting cheek to cheek.
Tonight,
I wanted to sleep
Without writing any word
For your smile.
Tonight,
I wanted to pretend
I am not touched by your beauty and your style.
But
To convince my words,
I had to show your picture to my heart.
That is when
I noticed the dimples on your cheeks.
Trust me,
It made your picture the purest art.
It’s only make believe, I know
But in my fondest dream I go
To some resplendent mountain peak
To gain the precedent I seek
Whereby the wisdom of the Son
Who meekly died for everyone
Is turn the other cheek.

i felt the wind of change arrive
as the ache in my heart
crept through my chest
and leaked out
the corners of my eyes
the wind was loud.
gusty and salty
a cleansing breath
it brushed democracy's
stifled cheek
awakening She
once again
nature herself breathed
a sigh of calm,
we felt the warm
glow of love
once again
he kicked him with left foot on his chest,
bit his fingers with ardent delight,
emptied bladder on his bright white vest!
the victim laughed as if all was right,
hugged offender with love albeit,
then kissed both his cheeks in show of jest!
So here is a lesson from teachings of Christ,
In the love of a father for his infant child!
Life, lies, and deceit
A tear frozen on a timeless cheek
A past love, a past life
A new love, a tortured wife
A whirlwind of drinks and drugs
A push, a shove, a broken love
A rope, first flight, no life
A tear, time stops, no wife
The beginning, an end
The end, a beginning
Life, love, lies, and deceit
A tear frozen on a timeless cheek
Shaking my head, back and forth
Will someone slap me, please
Over and over, again and again
Please. Slap some sense ... into me
Slap me. Slap me, pretty please
Slap, some more sense into me
Seriously, slap me silly
Slap me to my knees
Allow me to become a flower
Exposing me, at my darkest hour
Meanwhile, I moon the world
I am just a seed
Tongue in cheek - Tongue-in-cheek describes an exaggerated facial gesture — pushing a cheek out with one's tongue — meant to convey contempt or irony. (defined by vocabulary.com)
Tongue in Cheek-The Grind
the grind, prefer dark;
shifting teeth do not agree -
the worst habit, under moon.
squeeze a tube of paste.
superglue the parts to each -
only metaphorically.
