Ouch! You're really great at these brief poems, Eileen. You keep surprising me with the way you twist old sayings into something different. I think the phrase in question, has more to do with not engaging in verbal warfare that goes on endlessly. It's hyperbole. But I do KNOW what you're saying here ... you can't let people use you in an abusive way.

Sounds like you need one of those fencing masks my little Desert Orchid and an iron glove, that should set you up good and proper lol. Turning the other cheek is the worst piece of advice ever given. Some things you can ignore, some you can't. Take care, Richard

Yes, Michael. Sometimes the best thing is to move on. Nobody invites pain...and if pain is all you get from certain people....best thing to do is move on. Thanks for the visit.
