Herbaceous border delights
Flowers ripple, breeze
Fluttering beautiful flash
Settled on Buddleia.

Soft gentle rainfall
Shelter taken under leaf
Out of human sight
Herbaceous perfume pervades
Solitary walk....

Buddleia bush, like a small tree
broke in half,
fell into the neighbor's yard.

Planted to block the view of others,
nature decides
I must come out of isolation.

The yard, now open to the world,
personality identified,
facing the first of many changes....

To Welford for the snowdrops
in mid February
a hushed garden
with done, knuckled buddleia
rose hips nipped
no surplus food for the birds

I'm drawing a line
on Summer past
like some bedraggled piston
its  chore has gone
The buddleia is slightly drawn
and the red roses have died down
The Fern tree is re-splendid
in its promise
potted under my Robina
and weve got our spinach to grow
for spring...

Don’t plant cabbages near your buddleia bush
Not unless you want cabbages turned into mush
The butterflies love buddleia but they love cabbages too
And the baby caterpillars won’t want to share them with you
So take my advice and plant cabbages well away
Then you will have some leaves for your dinner today

Vibrancy
  of vesper-velvet gown
Buddleia glass slippers fall to ground

Fairy lights,
  the climaxing of stars,
in blue-eyed diamond-facet orbs

Riveting
  rose moon, kiss of jasmine
in cimmerian shade of Eden

Silhouette
  flirt, her bodacious trunk,
vines wrapped around her beckoning arch

AN ECLECTIC SUMMER’S DAY
Nuts arrive on the tree
is summer really on the wane?
School holidays still to break
and buddleia not yet in flower
for goodness sake!Runner beans
still to bloom,two weeks ago
it was still June and Wimbledon
passed without a  monsoon.
Clover now covers the lawn,
bird song still greets the dawn.
