A Blue Note
a blue note left inside a white envelope -- stained with tears winter sun peeks through brittle leaves falling -- my tears dry

CRUISING WITH TRANE...
   (Apropos John Coltrane)

Sometimes
in a blue note mood
i take the A-Trane
into a soprano night

And listen
to moonlight thrills
of beautiful sable birds

Monking around
with satin dolls
in search
of a love supreme:

Spiritual cruising with Trane
is still one of my favorite things....

Blue Note
The trees no longer show to me
Their stamp of wondrous sanctity.

The whistling winds that nightly sing
No longer peace and solace bring.

The tumid sea so cold and deep
No longer lulls my soul to sleep.

The twittering birds so high on air
With me no longer songs do share.

The soul grown brittle from despair
Tries and tries but does not care....

Listen to poem:
In nature's design, six is the key to all life alive.
Hexagons in petals, snowflakes, and beehives thrive,
In music, blues and roots groups play the six-stringed guitar.
With songs made with a hexatonic blue note, added to each bar.

A promise of fulfillment
A promise of contentment
That only music can provide...

Passion Sings
Passion Sings Passion sings on blue note pillows, down filled ecstasy in satin linens Stealing midnight in each others arms, falling satisfied past lilac dreams and calla lily shadows Floating above slumbering affection of two hearts made for each other Peacefully awaiting that first kiss of the new day when passion will serenade us once again Good night Soupers

Home of the Blues
They heard the breeze in oak trees
Making weird melodies
And they saw that as start of The Blues

From Parish Jail they heard the wail
Of a down-hearted frail
And heard that as a part of The Blues

From a whipporwill on Monkey Hill
They heard a new note
They pushed it through a horn
Until it was worn
Into a blue note

And then they nursed it...they rehearsed it
And then they gave out the news
That New Orleans is home of The Blues

(Sung to melody of "Birth of The Blues)...
