a shatter of silence

“A fight of voice exceeds one of fists.” Bludgeoned, broken, cast away, Time devours, your name decay, Ascend beyond the gilded throne, Unsung, unrested, still overthrown.

Anti-Psychotic

So overwhelmed in my Mind's bleak realm;
A mental dungeon where I am bludgeoned...
I lose control; release the helm-
(I have no strength; can barely function)

Beguiled by trials, my thoughts defiled-
Trying tortures, they compound- compile!
I lament this long torment,
And ponder if the pain's worthwhile

Silent Scream

Heart's silent scream
     lovers torn
       from savaged arms

   Hunched over
     bludgeoned into queue
       they disappear from view

    Auschwitz
      Bergen-Belsen
        Buchenwald
          Dachau ...

Emotionally Bludgeoned-

Beige Copper Tan What kind of mess I am? Disintegrated misappropriated bludgeoned; Love and peace is coming; Deep inside the heart, it is dark; There is a light, that flickers on bright; As the dawn purple blue and red royalty fit as it bleeds slight; Sadden been hit, struck over, over, over again

Blind Sight

Blind.
Are we now too bludgeoned by life and too blind to see?
Are we scared of what we’ve become, of what is to be?

Blood.
Courses through our veins.
The muscle of the heart keeps pumping strong.
But good hearts of love lose just the same.

Us.
You and me.
Do we care about each other?
Do we open our minds to see?
Would I walk through fire for you, would you walk through fire for me?

Preaching Punchers

Two bible-blabbering pastors
from two denominational sectors
ended up in stitches and plasters.

One man yelled: "Faith alone can save a man!"
The other screamed: "Only good deeds can!"

They swung bulky bibles, shouted curses,
bludgeoned and battered their righteous faces.

Oh, how they tried to kill each other,
for faith, for charity, but didn't bother
to heed the Lord's words: "Love one another."

Sage Floating In Swan Lake

SAGE FLOATING IN SWAN LAKE

How do you squeeze a man’s body into the coin slot?
With twine and treacherous stabbing.

The machine turned malevolent after dumping
an entire life’s savings into Swan Lake.

Battered and bludgeoned
the modern-day machine dies,

with dilated eyes, curiously
never seeing, the winsome beauty

of the Catskill mountains - Walter Sage
sinks in prohibition’s graveyard tears.

Insanity Solutions Breached-

I see the eyes it hears not; I hear the view it's screaming; I walk holding the grounds I stand on; I run holding my embraced arms raised; Horizontally tied up in my unconsciousness; Bludgeoned by my nightmares; Confused in my sanity; Awaiting my sins to untie me; Kaleidoscope grace mercy; And intangible physical breach; Insanity solution preached;

Allure of My Pastel Times-

In the allure of the pastel times
Posting patterns of medieval times
As sins lacerations cut and divide
My solid spirit my soul bleeds
I am bludgeoned by myself
My body runs and takes heed
I hide and while hitting I hold my breath
I decide not to take this moral test
Instead I am a witness of my mess
I confess my distress now I'm blessed
Amidst the allure of my pastel times

An Amendment

An amendment

A soldier reclines
on a bed of mines,
Unmarked
Apart from a bindi.

A little girl stares
Through glazed, lifeless eyes,
Her clothes bloodied.
Her childhood discarded.

A woman distressed,
Weeps over her husband.
Her ex-husband.
Severely bludgeoned.

A lad lies lifeless
In Srebenica.
His head has exploded.
A pizza?

Girl, woman, man, lad
All victims of killing.
War? Rape? Murder? Arrest?
Resisting?

Never.
Thou shalt not kill.

Shoot the Moon

I cannot still believe my karma
When all drab hope expired
And with it my faith
In humanity -
We met.

I do not question Fate,
It's snakelike ripcord slither;
I accept whole the dream
For fear it is -
Not real.

I will not court denial,
Kiss belief in this fortune;
The living treasure you bestow
Upon my being -
Breathes exultant.

I know only these things:
Life weeps fluid ephemeral,
And bludgeoned by impairment;
Yet together we may shoot -
The moon.

Hybrid Disassociation

Hybrid disassociation enveloping the realm of the brutal.

Severed limbs rain from the sky, heads rolling the streets- A hell rejoiced by satins’
glorious army.

Disembodied virtues, convoluted vision in a rhetorical era.

Buried remnants of a societal refrain post due lay staunch in ruins of a untold text.

Blood rages through the river as bludgeoned faces paint the streets of flesh and
blood.

Involute power reigns absolute, so begins the desolate landscape

The Settlement

The gentle grit, Precarious grind, Rattling my teeth, Easing my mind. It's barely relief, But it'll have to do, Only luck or fate, To see us through. Must be cold down there, ... Frozen over, Way too wet up here, For that type of clover. My option's long gone, A vivid memory, Patiently I now wait, For it to return to me. The irony is not lost, Nor is my pride, With a fistful of gold, From his bludgeoned hide. (C) 2016 PJ Bayliss

Sucker Punch

I usually see them coming
this one caught me by surprise.
It hit me in the back of my melon
right between the eyes.

A cheap shot was extended
bludgeoned from behind.
Directly above an area
where the sun has never shined.

I need to be more careful
the tiny dancer keeps watch.
I guess it could have been worse
I could have caught one in the crotch.

Tomorrow is a brand new day
off the clock and out to lunch.
I have new friends that watch my back
for the dreaded sucker punch.
