Premium Member Terrible Sound

Sound
Waves
Enter
Beating me
Down beyond knowing
I reach a realm of confusion
I don’t understand the pain I have endured today
The sound beats me up every second with her terrible voice penetrating me

Colourful

Purple stains my eyes at night,
Redness beats me every fight.
Black leaves me with hole in life,
Blue I feel - I can't diffuse.

Thus, my life, a bleeding bruise.

~Written in 2003 (Monday, 26th, March) when I was fourteen.

Here Me

here me
my heart is screaming in terestrial silence
fear me
so much anger inside to break
hurt me
like me dad does when he beats me
cry for me
i can't seem to feel anything anymore
the emotions are blocked
by hate
so hate me for wanting you save me

For You Still I'M None

frogs leaping
a rhythm of heart
beats me up

the raining
tones on your absent
in courtship

night jasmine
with snaky red eyes
greets illusion

bright silver
the moon full love dish
in tasteless

for the sun
ah, for the you one
still I'm none!

I Go To You

I take you flowers in the spring
You are my rock
My everything
When life beats me
And leaves me scarred
When I want to give up
And things are hard
I go to you for calmer thought
I go to you with nothing
When nothings all I got
I go to you
Place flowers by your head
Kneel and pray by your eternal bed
I go to you

Premium Member Beats Me

To count, uphold the beauty of the form,
Or to depart, defying honored norms?
To contact ground with regular impacts
Or syncopate one's way off beaten tracks.
The bard, in famed soliloquy, departs;
To be, or not to be constrained, these arts?
For I am bickered, battered, torn and worse:
A muse abused or joyful freed in verse?

The Desert

The blazing sun beats me down
As the glare does its best to surround
The dirt is whipped by the dust devils
My world is a hell felt upheaval

The rationed water is all but gone
In the desert my life feels as its done
Until finally I find National Highway One
And flag down a traveller my life saved and won.

Premium Member Curse or Blessing

   Motivation, inhibition
     Ambition, depression
   Where do they come from
     Are they curse or blessing

   Curiosity, lethargy
     Bliss, reluctance
   We’ve all felt them
     Perhaps more than once

   Emotions and feelings
     Where do they start ...
From the head or the heart
Beats me ~ I’m not that smart

War Is On 4

but think of the war
which war
they are crying about
wars are not new right
why are they so concerned
wars are not bad they win some
lose sell arms either way celebrate
memorials for winners and brave
medals of honour thrown statues
of gold stone and marble erected
workers get paid
economy is boosted
why are they concerned
it beats me

Premium Member Pleading Stare

Listen up please, I’m crying out.
I am bleeding on the inside.
It’s my pleading stare, not a shout.

Abuser beats me everyday,
sleep has become my safe haven.
Life has become stagnant and gray.

I died slowly on the inside,
the physical must join spirit.
No longer do I have to hide.

Solitude or Not

Stayed alone at home
Maybe I wasn't so alone
Wandering thoughts as I hear footsteps
Looking around, yet no one in sight
My illusion?
Beats me.
Headphones loud, eyes focused on the screen
A faint shadow passed by
Was it my imagination?
Hope so.
I look around but there's no one
As I turn around, I feel something tighten around my neck
I gasp and struggle yet I can't win
Suddenly, I turn around and there's nothing.

She Sells Death

He cheats on me by night
And beats me by day
Oh what shall I do about this fray
Well I know a lady who sells death
One bite and in Hell he shall lay
The concoction is simple not hard to make
Slow cook it a hour and ten minutes to bake
It tastes like heaven
But I promise he'll be dead by seven
It contains a little of this
And a lot of that
A little goat's urine
And a pinch of devil's fat
And by morning
You'll be in mourning

Two Mountains

The clamber beats me up.
Now I have to heel slide
down a scree covered ravine
while trying to ignore the sweat of panic.

Half-way down
there’s a large smooth boulder,
I hug it
slow my breathing,
stop battling the mountainside.

Rock Ravens
circle a compass of warm air,
ascend and drop
with hardly a wingbeat.

It’s then I recall
that there are two mountains here,
one under my feet
the other
I brought with me
as a tower of doubt.

Abused Wife

My backs against the wall what am i to do? He's come home drunk again to beat me black and blue. I've called the police again they're always on his side, he hides his self so well, he gives that evil grin as my face begins to swell.

He tells me he's sorry, what am i to believe? It'll only happen again, I know that i must leave. The beatings are getting more frequent its only getting worse i'm afraid that the next time he beats me i'll wind up in a hearse.

Scared

I look around I see woman cring, woman dying. I see a sister she looks so lost and displaced.
I ask her ''are you o.k'' She cries ''he beats me''.

I feel at loss, I want to help empower theses woman.

Ilook around I see woman crying, woman dying.

I ask her ''let me help'' she tell's me ''i'm scared''.
She has a right to live in peace, not to live in fear.

I feel at a loss. I want to help empower theses woman.

I look around I see woman cring, woman dying.

Listening Is Loving

She turned my tears into essentials, to garden my roses. I'd bloom at her sight, as nurturing as her words have been to my soul. None could comprehend, for love has blossomed into its rarest form. None could sit still, attend to me attentively until time told of a tale of new beginnings. Heard. Seen. Loved, accordingly. ~ It beats me to compare a love like this. 22 July 2022 'Listening is Loving' Poetry Contest Sponsored by Mystic Rose Rose
