Cape Cod
From a distance a lighthouse horn blows
The mist settles in, fishermen do not go
A beacon light gleams and attracts
Sights and sounds, from a warning tract.

From a distance, harbor lights in a row
Tides smooth over, ripples are low
Seagulls landing, shells lie about
This must be Cape Cod no doubt...

Premium Member The Offering
i'd craved you i suppose
all of my life i'd awakened
to the sound of soft pebbles
dancing on the windowsill eagerly

quenching the needful things first
as i gathered notions of
the sun's own rays gravity
approached a mindful task withered

beneath solace while faint hues
lingered between a beacon light
capturing my thoughts
above a whisper you'd beckoned
my soul once more...

My dear, my dear,
How goes it in America,
   in America,
   my dear?
How goes it in America?

Fine fine fine, says she.

Except
   of course
   of course
not so finefinefine

If
You are a woman
   or an immigrant
or uneducated
or lacking skills
or poor
   or black
   or brown...

That's how she goes
   in America,
dear Liberty Lady.

Your beacon light
shines not on all....

Presence .
surrounded by its presence
soft focus, aware, quiet
gentle music again plays
sweet songs of forgiveness
understanding softly
until enveloped with love
accepting presence, surrender
unwanted hurtful memories
burden needed no more
restless spirit now free
stay, be my guide
together we experience
loving heart and hand
promises dreampt, now kept
come, be my beacon, light and
I shall be yours...

My Middle Child Mini Me
My mini me middle child

Handsome, strong willed and brave is my middle child.
He doesn't understand how much he means to me.
He is my bright and bold beacon light.
He is the breath in my lungs.
It's remarkable how much he is like me.
A repeat rebellious, determed, wild me. Stubborn, ornery, smart.
A fighter, survivor, problem solver.
Yup that's him but it is also me.
My mini me middle child. ??
