Then I remember it's not home;
that place with white dresses, hats 
and pretty lace parasols, and studied 
looks from crooks and salesmen;

no, no; it's none of these, it's me,
my old life, and I watch the milk-girls
and gigolos on Baxter Street, giving 
long, drawn looks into adjacent nebulae,
ads for screen tests, and other black holes;

and that's all well and dandy fine; but it

old rhythm makes
boredom dissipate 
and helps smiling to
be fun

something about that
static brewed in makes
me hunger for more until
i sneeze tears of emotional
nostalgia

i close my eyes and imagine myself
on a ride with baxter and the gang
on the other side of a dream come true
and the latest scene of amazement

two minutes and some change later,
when old rhythm ends, another follows,
and i am the happiest butterfly in 
captivity using the net as a makeshift 
hammock...
