Maybe Not So Willing

maybe not willing

Rachel Turkey Barbecued
Rachel Turkey Barbequed
Size of big turkey had been rude;
Not fit in over and caused a feud;
Answer sought;
We had fought;
Big turkey had to be barbequed.
Jim Horn
This actually happened to Rachel Maddow....

Showed Her I'M Boss Hog
Last night I showed my humble gratitude
To a sweet sow with pulchritude
She served as a shield
Or I would've squealed
When the farmer wanted me barbequed
Now, all she eats is pizza; Totino's
Whines that she needs help with the bambinos
But diapers are crappy
Not a chore for pappy
I'd rather gamble at the casino...

Polar Bear Who Eats Sweets
I am the polar bear who loves to eat sweets.
You can have hams, chickens and other meets.
I like peppermint, chocolate and gingerbread.
Especially those men baked by my cousin Ed.
I am the polar bear who loves to taste icing every day.
Frosting makes my pancakes taste a particularly wonderful way.
You can have barbequed pork, hamburgers, steaks and such.
My mouth is ready for sugars, vanilla, and a cinnamon touch....

What's Fer Dinner, Grandpa
Grandpa and his kin gathered at the mill,
“It’s n’uther thanksgiving, y’all! Eat yer fill!
Hey cuzz Joe Bob, what’s the deal?
Whose turkey did y’all steal?”
What turkey? Y’all be chompin on road kill!
Yes siree y’all might have to chaw some,
But this barbequed swill be awesome!
Be a shame for it to waste,
So salt and pepper to taste,
And feast on some almost fresh possum!
Inspired by :
my poetry friend Carolyn Devonshire. : )...

Prime Steak Barbequed
Barbequing on the grill
Prime steak such a thrill
Mouth watering I just spill
Waiting for this treat
Sauce smells oh so sweet
Give me meat—
Bam!

My Go To Sandwich
Peanut butter and jelly is my go-to sandwich every day.
You can have your turkey, beef, and salami, all your very way.
I care not for pickles, relish, ranch, mustard, or mayo.
Please hang on to your onions, lettuce, and bit of tomato.
Peanut butter and jelly is the sandwich of my dream.
I do not care about pork – barbequed or steamed.
Just make sure the jelly is grape, and not strawberry.
You can save the meats and cheeses for my cousin Harry....

Watching
The ancient slivered
white moon piece
hangs webbed,
Quite entangled
in the unyielding wintering
of maple's stark branching.
As watch watching does he watch,
that thin silvered white moon crescent,
seeing all from his high perch,
His ancient partner,
the weary beleaguered planet
Earth, slow-roasting
from green
to tan
to brown,
Barbequed by fellow traveler,
the well-respected
Mr. Sun.

Summer Cooking
Tempting pieces of glazed pork;
dressed in honey juice
it’s summer’s cook-out by night--
grilled chunks dance on flame
herbs thrilling moist buds,
a zesty
WHIRL!
Barbequed flavor warms
paste soaked in rice wine,
laughter ringing from delight
achara completes
eve's luscious fete--
sinful binge
YEAH!

cucumbers and green pickled mangoes....

Marinated, Dude
Are you in the mood
for a poem about food
Something marinated, dude
or grilled, barbequed
Tangentially:
Have you ever viewed
a painting in the nude
Meaning (if you're shrewd)
that you are no prude...
And would you ever collude
or possibly intrude --
wade into a family feud
a cesspool of moral turpitude
Back-on-Track:
Is your gastromo-palate imbued
with delights that include
a smorgasboard of seafood
dainty caviar, finger-lickin'-good...
