Bad poetry is what one gets
when horny people don't have sex
so if this rhyme seems juvenile
give me a break, it's been a while

the one thing about holding your tongue: it's hard to talk, harder to eat sometimes you bite your fingers, but as a plus, bad poetry is slowed

Aging

Problems with my joints
Problems with insomnia
Problems with my memory
Problems with my concentration
Problems with my energy levels
Problems with my taste buds
Problems with desire

Getting old is one big problem
One problem after another
This problem isn’t for the faint of heart
Well, at least I am still alive
And able to write bad poetry!!

Start with an obscure form of poetry,
a female role in Shakespeare comedy
to find yourself in gender politics.

With changeling, colonial politics
mask anonymity in poetry
add subjugation into comedy

To mix sixteenth century comedy
with twenty-first century politics
without doubt produces bad poetry

Poetry comedy and politics

Bad Poetry

Love has been over-written
There is not much left for me.
Even so, as I fall asleep
I try to write a romance
On your back, in circles.
My feet between your sleeping legs,
I keep quiet to keep you near.
I want to super glue your lips to mine,
To be held until we are faultless.
I am tired of loving vulgarly
More, most, insatiable;
Common notions in my head.
I am tired of the bad poetry
That is loving you.

Bad Company

"They should stop kissing babies
and write poetry."

He meant the politicians.
I nodded in agreement.

The idea appealed,
then I thought of all
the bad poetry in the world.

"Art lifts us above the base condition,
it inspires us beyond the personal."

His words seemed plausible,
until I recalled
that Hitler was an artist,
Mao and other dictators
wrote poetry.

I shuddered,
a man is judged by the company he keeps.

Walking Back...

	Walking back
 To
 The
 shack concrete
(...a reference to bad poetry)
 notice
 a non-hurricane-ravaged
 [moping]palm
-actually
 an intrusive
 propagated stuck
 in black
-brick-holed
 date palm.
tepid steam

 dive tank
 bottom waiting
 to see
 if
 it works
shadows
-frigate-bird
 over head
 visit
 through reef
 softened wave
-come up
 party of
 bubbles
-I'm in
 my own
