Avalon
Red paint upon this stage
Overdrive from electric strums
Crowds gather from every age
Knife decals cross on drums
Brand new fender blue tinge
Arrival at airports always delay
Noon prompts a drinking binge
Drunk ballads from music's cliche...

Premium Member Gown of Green
Her gown of sprouting green, sleeves of new leaves
Jade shade illuminates fresh summer rain
Woven gossamer silk on turquoise trees
Threaded through her mare's alabaster manes
Planting gold hope along emerald lanes
November mists persists in chartreuse dawn
With aspirations to sage Avalon.

In Front of the Avalon
Missing that
Sultry muff
Of stained coffee
and stale cigarettes.

We thought we were
French, and perhaps as
Close to rebelliousness
as the Midwest would Allow.

My eye make-up made
me Alive and a woman
Stronger than you

And could ever be.

With those candles
And cement blocks
you penetrated me

And I was alive....

Premium Member Remember Annette Funicello
Annette Funicello started out as a Disney Mouseketeer
We kids loved her totally, she was everything we wanted.
Starring in Babes in Toyland made her even more popular.
I was nine when her Hawaiian paper dolls came out.
Man, there was nothing better than that.
Until she began starring in beach movies with Frankie Avalon....

Avalon Nl Hurricane Snow Storm
Haiku Three Verse Poem©

Avalon Hurricane Snowstorm

Twas nice to see folks
Of St. John’s, Mount Pearl, surrounds
Turn a hurricane
Snowstorm into a
Snow clearing activity
For everybody.

Shutins, fire hydrants,
Vehicles, drive and walkways
Were all cleared with cheer.

The Never Pale
goddess modest muse of mine
lend i now thy art divine
that may i thy law invoke
thought by fools to be a joke
for to light the flame anew
that once did brightly shine for you
long ago in ages past
in avalon the first and last
kingdom of the world most high
in peace and love the starry sky
yet still reminds us of the tale
the morning star, the never pale...

Millenium Eve - Waking Up In Avalon
Somehow it seems sacriligious
To impose
A day's order on a day like this.
The space between sleeping night
and waking day stretches elastic
as if I occupy a hole in time.
Others pass by
and disappear,
but the mist lies magic below
promising a day of enchanted delights.

Today
or tomorrow
I shall wake up
in Avalon

Humpty Dumpty of Avalon
King Humpty Dumpty sat on a high hill
In Avalon just round the mill
Four story book dragons guarded his place
What went inside no one could tell
Once in a while he would ride to Camelot
When the day was mild and not too hot
Devoid of purpose or any will
The old King would be ready to kill
A pheasant or any bird in the bush
For one in hand is better than two in the sagebrush
Hail Humpty dumpty the king of the past
The time has come to return at last...

Premium Member Agreeing On Butterflies
Three sage faeries crept out of the tall grasses of the Avalon
The air was ripe with dew, it was the beginning of fawn
How many butterflies shall we grace the meadow with today?
They debated this solemnly, it was their assignment in May.

Sixteen monarchs, a dewberry wing, and Luna moths one suggested.
That is way too many for Avalon, the oldest faerie protested.
How many do you think? The youngest one asked with a wink.
They agreed to ten monarchs, a dew wing and one Luna moth – pink....
