Humpty Dumpty of Avalon

King Humpty Dumpty sat on a high hill In Avalon just round the mill Four story book dragons guarded his place What went inside no one could tell Once in a while he would ride to Camelot When the day was mild and not too hot Devoid of purpose or any will The old King would be ready to kill A pheasant or any bird in the bush For one in hand is better than two in the sagebrush Hail Humpty dumpty the king of the past The time has come to return at last

Great satire on the Humpty Dumpty story, Tahera. The contest sponsor told me she was looking for poems about burlesque strippers. Not quite my style, but the dictionary defines burlesque as a satire or parody and you excelled with this theme here! Wishing you success always. Love, Carolyn

Strange egg, King Humpty Dumpty. This is an interesting story, Tahera. I have to laugh, of course, when I think of Humpty Dumpty at Camelot. Actually, this is kind of Mother Goosey, and that is what makes it fun. Love, Dave

So this is burlesque, Tahera. It's a form I need to study up on. YOu are familar with HUmpty Dumpty. have you read many nursery rhymes in English? I like how you got the bird in the hand into this as well, along with Camelot!!
