Unknown Parts of Bones
He was killed after being fully grown,
And for him a bugle had been blown;
Music made;
Properly laid;
Burled in Arlington are parts of bones.

Beneath this green and grassy field
Whence ghosts of heroes past doth shield;
Lie noble relics of flesh and bone,
To each bequeathed a marble stone.
And as you walk amongst the rows
May you learn what each one here knows;
O that freedom should not be lost,
All who lie here have paid the cost.

Epitaph
At twelve miles per gallon
in mid-June Arlington
the man stopped for fuel
ignoring his malfeasant
twelve-year-old son.
Six billion ants retreat
underground under duress
the sharp gaze of a boy
and his looking glass, the son
of a man wiping sweat
off his brow under duress
from solar deliverance.

Free verse
Row upon row of white crosses speak
Silently of the insane frivolity of war.
Arlington is the stark reminder I seek
Row upon row of white crosses speak
Solemnly of soldiers lives at their peak,
Their courageous voices heard no more
Row upon row of white crosses speak
Silently of the insane frivolity of war.

Triolet
Leaving the train left us rattled
braising sounds abruptly heightened
my senses measured completely
beneath sullen moments within
quiet calmness thee essence of
Arlington cemetery the hidden forestry
catering to tiny mounds and trees
industrial findings nestled crawdads
flew out sparingly creating winged mesh
emptiness covered in insects flesh

Ghazal
I look over the fields
At Arlington where they lay
Their pearly white crosses
Stand proudly each day
Wheather gleaming in sunlight
Or covered with snow
Each one stands for freedom
Each one in a row
We should hang a medal of honor
On these crosses that stand
These warriors gave everything
They've protected our land
We owe them a debt
We can never repay
Please join me and honor them
Each and every Veteran's Day

Verse
This is a growing Pennsylvania community.
Just south of Pittsburgh, it’s in Allegheny County.
This town has been incorporated since 1950.
This is a place with a rather long and proud history.
Baldwin stretches north along Becks Run.
It is just south of South Side Flats and Arlington.
The population per square mile is rather dense.
Baldwin has just over twenty-thousand residents.
With a bright future, Baldwin is a town that grows.
This is a very proud place, and it shows.
