HALLOWEEN POLITICS: A HAIKU TRILOGY

Halloween…coming…
Aping today’s politics:
No treats…just more tricks:-

Offering false treats,
Evil candidates ape ghosts;
Tricking scared voters:-

Halloween precedes
Coming midterm elections;
Voting tricks abound:-...

Alliterative Assertion
Although amateurs are annoyingly apt at aping another’s avocation, All artists accord another’s art acceptance, As any artwork asks appreciation, And after all, all artists are allusive, anyhow.

Bilang Makata

Premium Member Caged
like the animals
in a zoo,
we roam freely
within our allowed
spaces---caged
and confined, yet
our cages are invisible---
we, like the unbarred
elephant,
no longer chained---
oblivious to his power---
will not move
beyond the mental keloid chain
hooked around our brain:

today, we just march
and sing sad songs---aping
caged birds---
crying to fly away home....

Premium Member Evaporating Days
My remaining days, Merely a shadow of those expended. It’s as if I’ve floated through time, Aping smoke, born of a match head, Drifting Indiscriminately, Chasing dreams, oft dwarfed by reality, Evaporating days, Auto-bused me to the stop at which I stand; I realize now, that life was truly a vapor, And beyond life, a timeless existence With God.

ANOTHER DAY OF FLEEING LIFE

Jaundiced eyes peered
from skeletal sockets
reflecting the daily fear:

Not of inevitable death;
but the agony of life another day.

The permanent stoop
of the frail body---aping
                           a living trophy of submission,
had long prepared its self
to endure the daily scavenge
of the garbage heap:

What a pity;
even a dying man must eat!...
