Once the Bee Has Left
If you know that you can,
do you really still have to

With uncertainty gone,
does incentive still thrive

Must you then prove to others,
what you know beyond measure

Is it anticlimactic
—once the bee leaves the hive

(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2017)...

Galactic Warming

The day after Christmas is always a little
anticlimactic the gifts opened – the wrappings
and ribbons all tidied, although a few gifts
may arrive late and our Boxing Day guests
may add a few.

But we're past the solstice,

an actual, painting artist
I stole his stencils
to demonstrate a metaphor
but he swore
that I betrayed him
but I craved him
I craved his closure
and he craved his canvas - me
with his stencils in my hands
I hoped
not for an apology.. no..
but just to retrace his history
gathering this anticlimactic moment

My Thyroid and You
A scorpion tail
Tell me when it's safe to yell
For God's sake I'm shaking here,
Breaking here, taking breaths of arid air
And drowning
Sandy bubbles rising, crowning
An anticlimactic pop
Please stop! You're hurting me
The heat, it steeps like morning tea
Your sandy screams live and breathe
My self-fulfilling prophecy
It burns, I can't. I can't
I can't be water for you cup
Deserted here with not enough
I'm empty too. It's
Me.
My disease....
