One day, Sue gave an anguished scream
How it all happened, she couldn’t dream
Hair unruly, breasts did sag
Her dress was a rag
“I once was on the cheerleader team!”
your light has long extinguished
only sadness remains
over promises you have anguished
a dark side that couldn’t be tamed
a spark is all you need
to rekindle what was lost
all those whispers you should not heed
redeem your soul at any cost
Torment tempests perish psyche
Anguished anger blazes the maligned mind
Seethes sad life to cinder cake
Agony ashes soar to fly far
Bleakness blurs dark despair
Enticed essence seeks solace in
Halcyon hope of rare rapture
Torrential rain falls
Rivers swell, bursting their banks
Floods consume the land
Houses submerged deep
Anguished cries of lost homes rise
Water, ruthless foe
Nature's wrath unleashed
Mighty force engulfs all life
Hope floats amidst fear
blood stains the sidewalk where I walk
broken hearts lie beating on the ground
tears are the only currency in this town
carnage surround me, human wreckage all around
anguished cries begging for a reprieve
tortured souls sorry for their misdeeds.
