They See the Rising Sun,
No Doubt more trials are sure to come,
And together they'll tackle them one by one....

Fatigue
The demons of slumber
awaken a hunger
for the resting of my soul
sweet night has come
with the days work done
now my body pays the toll...

Joni's Cherry Tree
maybe i'll play dead for a few hours
watch the trees from a safe distance
count my toes
hang my imagination out to dry.
all in an
honest days work

Gods Work
The Sun bows down, it's days' work done,
The Moon now rises to replace the Sun,
'tis Gods creations daily display,
To keep our world covered each day.

Days Fighting Nights
Days are too slow
Nights are too short
Daylight remembers
Darkness forgets
When the day and night meet
A choice between victory and defeat
Day always wins
The long days work
The daylight choices
The battle is now
The day fights, the night bows...

A youthful dream
 is an old man's indevor

A good days work
Is a restful night of slumber

Arrogance is ugly
Usually spoken by a pretty face

A courtesy laugh
Perhaps improve is not the answer

Shakespeare once said
what ever he wanted to say
I...

Ham and Eggs
Good morning whats for breakfast?
Can I have eggs and ham please?
That’s a nice simple breakfast
That can be prepared with ease
Well not as simple as you may think
Oh its but a days work for the hen
But for the poor old pig
It’s a lifetime of commitment...

Rabbis, Preachers, and Priests

Imams and Monks from the East

Each bow to a higher power

But some gets paid by the hour

They vow to love thy neighbor

But profit from all their labor

They'll soon be expecting half

As they worship the Golden Calf...

All In a Days Work
Cleaning the house
Washing dishes
Cooking dinner
It's all in a day's work

Ironing
Baking
Household chores
It's all in a days work

Outdoor work
Working
Driving
Running errands
It's all in a day's work
Which like, Groundhog Day, occurs, day after day.

Outside Your Door
My dreams are as many as the stars in the sky
Goals are as few as the mountains near by

Desires stretch with the movement of the air
Things of want are grown with care

Thoughts carry into the universe as endless trails
Tears keep the ocean full by try and fails

Success is seeing the morning sun
A sunset means a days work is done....

All In Days Work
Gripped by toiled hand,
Hissing sound I hear everywhere
Reverberating the youthfulness of my days,
Where lullaby and executioner's fierce reign
Echoing my ego to whisper in solitude,
Where I used to be.

This is where I'm in now,
Blow torch, leads and thy might,
Oblivion everyday I'm here
Replete of my memorabilia haunting
In my relinquished mind....

Knock Back One, Two, Three
Home from another days work
Sometimes you can be such a jerk

Knock back one two or three,
Tell me what do you see

There goes a forth fifth sixth
I want nothing to do with this

Guitar is loud,
All I hear is your frown

Now you on the couch,
Guitar lays on your tummy sleeping grouch

My turn I gotta try and sleep
You could never defend me
You'd too damn weak...

Dinner Fork
Crow was thirsty,
and gasping,
beak opened in gap,
and breath pulsating hard,
from a flight from far,
it sighted water,
not far but near rather,
it made the short flight,
not flying but hopping hard,
had it not made the effort,
what might have happened,
is anybody' guess,
moral is after hard days work,
you still have to push in hard,
to get to your dinner fork....

Picking Blackberries
The Blackberries in Quincy
Are almost ready to pick
My annual event on
Making myself sick

You drive for hours
Knowing it's going to take
High hopes of canning
And pies to bake

Wrestling through bushes
For hours on end
One for the bucket
Two for the mouth over again

Fingers are sore
From the thorns along the vine
A full days work shows
An empty pail, full stomach, but all mine...

The Prophet Abandoned By His Flock
I drink now and I speak the truth
hypocrisy was my friend
I had to pretend not to be what I am
not to do what you do
and this is most evil of all
I have never done an honest days work in my life
my tongue now loosened by champagne
but I speak as I do everything
for all the world to know
you used to listen to what I said

Take a drink my friend
just say what you have in your heart
I never could do either...

Malleficarum
let's call it unnecessary
these days that seem
a curse of calendars
I think they do that from time to time
they pick any stupid thursday
throw things at your face
make you hell at work
make some pain come out of nowhere
I already gave up trying to understand
why do things like that happen
I just throw myself on the bed
and let the curse lose it's force
it's better to rest
Friday can be worse......

I'Ll Be There
when you come home from a hard days work
i'll be there to ease your mind
take your stuff and put it up
massage you back and feet

when you are wearied and downtrodden
i'll be there to lift you up
and make your spirit rise again
i'll comfort you with love and warmth

when you are happy and filled with joy
i'll be the one who bought you there
i'll be by your side long as you are true
i'll be there always for you...

Concrete Rose
Is it the rough thorns that make me rough

Or is it my roots that help me grow up

I’m a beautiful days flower

But a hard days work

Is it my reddish color

That makes me one of a kind

Or is it my greenish color,

From a lost child you are trying to defy

I’m a concrete rose

Brought up by love,

And raised by sorrows

Stumped down one day

But standing stronger tomorrow after tomorrow...

A Bird Song
Glide through the sky as the eagle

and soar past the clouds like the jay

Swim through the sea like a penguin

And splash like a duck in the bay

Hoot to the moon like an owl

For everyone now is forewarned

Yet the crows continue there chatter

And the chickens peck at there corn

A days work is done

The night time is over

And the loop is growing long

Though separate they sound retched

Together they build a song...

The Peace of Honesty
What peace does man know?
When he chooses not to show
The sweet taste of honesty
In his chosen destiny.
Honesty is the face of content
Forever the weapon of defense,
To guide the restless heart of man,
Frantically shrugging to take a stand.
Wake up sweet honesty!
Roam this land bold and free,
Condeming ignorance on this earth,
Up to now, from the time of birth.
The garment of honesty is my shield,
Leading and protecting until;
Like the golden setting sun
My days work is done!...
