Bent Tree -Airless Suburban Haiku-
A tree bends over
not to smell the sweet grasses
but to pick up leaves.

Chickadee -Airless Suburban Haiku-
Chickadee flies low
looking for food he buried
runs into a tree.

Pandemi
As easy as the air you breathe but can't see.
Blind to the airless suffocation.Speechless for your last breathe. Gasping to be cleansed choking to death. The lights dim then bright again. Wasn't the first time. Won't be the last.Do you feel the routine of pestilence.

If only that was me
I don’t know who I’ve been today,
But I wish she’d come back-
Her confidence, astonishing
And her ability to live so weightlessly
I wish I had her airless capabilities-
Who was she again and why did she save me
From myself
I wished she was me even behind the scenes....

Blue Wave
Heat on the door, windows airless,
Obsessive heat.
Inching blandness in sorrow soaked.
Prism of light spearing through our town
Filled with hope.
A lingering ghost stays on.
Hungry repetition, happened, been and gone.
So slowly, interest fading
To a daylight breaking
For that moment,
By a candle bare,
On rosewood eyes you shine....

Regeneration
Deserted and bleak,
Where mountains reach and rocks
Squat red and jagged,
The jumbles, the building blocks
Of a long-dead world.
Canyons plunge deep where
Fast flowing water
Eroded a channel there.
Now dead, dry, airless,
A Red Planet among the stars
Hopes for rebirth.
This is the Spirit of Mars
Waiting for help from Earth.
(Naga-uta)...

Anatomically Astronam-Us
I’d orbid any suns with you,
or earths.
Together casting shadows,
Proclaiming insignificance
of light or night or day or
time.
Silently swooning weightless,
airless.
Compositions of magnificence
crashing through stars
and holes of darkness.
Big, bold balls of deafness
with graves of blazing fire.
Nautical pilots of our sky
orbiting each other....

After the Hurricane
Rest now…
To idle from natures’ merciless dispossession
Lifeless muscles slump
Still now,
Though exhausted from the blow
Perhaps you are the same;
Now we are one.
Breathless, windless, airless,
Silence after the slaughter
I did something wrong;
Beguiled from belittlement.
Yes, I am mortal now…
Aftermath of the hurricane.
The beginning of the end,
Heart beats....

Grace
She walks alone and has such airs,
though airless be the things which she desires.
She smiles throughout, as each blow falls,
with the martyrless grace that sainthood requires.
She takes such pride, though there be none,
in each and every task she is assigned.
Then bending low,
with so much care,
lends grace and beauty to man’s most unrefined....

In the Desert
In the desert
Like a barren flute
punched and airless,
Amidst sand dunes
and dusky plaits,
Where no roses bloom
only cacti prick,
Lonesome, desolate,
as emotions daunt,
Tears dried up
I writhe in ache.
Yearning for..
A melody,
A rain,
A smile,
A little red rose...
that he might bring,
an utmost utopia.

Not Your Peanut, My Peanut -Airless Suburban Haiku-
This is my peanut
the one down there is mine too
I know, I dropped it.

Sept.12/2013
I figured I would take one of my many pictures I snapped while walking around the park and make a poem out of it. I wish I could post the picture, that goes along with this piece. It's a picture of a squirrel sitting on a rock, holding a peanut with its hands....

An Epiphany To Remember
Standing at the very threshold of my dream, I had an epiphany
That somewhere inside, I sworn that I been there before
Trapped in broken records; in the broken truth of the past
Basking over the glitters into the seams of my closed-fisted-mask
I was swimming with a thousand other fishes, drowning under the moon
I had an epiphany of a prison hiding inside an airless balloon
Wilbert Dela Cruz 6-6-16...

Infinitesimal Beauty
The veil is rising
Easing off
my fear strained face,
it catches
on crystalized tears,
pulling away
I bath in liberty
The first airless void
stills all movement,
abandon was never
nameless, faceless
No longer condemned
sliding towards the light,
I take in my first breath
free of regret and torment
In the ensuing minutes
infinitesimal beauty
takes my breath again
as I exhale my first sigh......

Black and Blue
The Moon is full and bright.
It's white.
But I know...
it's black;
or, anyway, grey.
And swaddled in the airless
Really Black.
(like me.)
The sun is yellow,
the Sky blue.
But the sun's always
seemed white to me.
The anodyne Sky - so less
blue
than one who is blue
down deep, so blue.
And when the Sky
seems fruited with
color, I know it's stolen
hues. Or, leastways,
borrowed dyes when
daylight daily dies....

When
When those we send back to the moons surface,
those we dispatch to those lifeless planets
that hang dead-boned and airless
in our small corner of space;
when they who reach and explore,
colonize and construct,
will they eventually construe
what we knew all along
that we who dwell on Earth
are the one reason for God to exist.
That God is here in the fruitful soil
of this garden
where eternal life has planted its heart....

Life's Pathway
LIFE'S PATHWAY
Quicksand hollow inside
Airless dangers lurk
Collapsed desires subside
Failure makes life dark.
Shaky footstep falters
Sands of time don’t stop
Fotune never alters
Life loses the prop.
Inner beacon flashes
Desolate pathway
Journey future traces
Walk on your dismay.
Living struggles begin
Give life divine grace
Winner resides within
Bliss marks end of race.

Age Like Wine
arms in chainlinked fashion
marching outwards on the soft floor.
Oh, the sublime depravity of it all
above the waist seems forbidden.
I am robbing it.
the aqua blue green mirror waits.
at the hip, patient.
telling the sky how it looks.
inhibitions lose themselves,
the loss brings euphoric relief.
I open my eyes to the aquatic sting.
your outer lines are dull
submerged and censored
in brief, airless time.
and so here we smile, and age like wine....
