Premium Member Bereft
Pain was his friend, his companion for life,
Sine qua non of his agonized strife---
   But when his wife left
   He felt so bereft---
He succumbed to the bone surgeon's knife....

People, Places, Situations, People are agonized and wounded for more reasons than anyone may decipher. Compassion for one another is so greatly needed in these critical times. It makes me wonder, makes me wanna holler, scream for their hurts, and needs....

She felt bleak
Things were hopeless
She was too agonized to sleep
The world is a traitor

In the morning all of these feelings were gone
Dream faeries had replaced her dourness
She bounced out of bed, with a fresh beginning
The world beautiful again...

Premium Member Brokenness
People out here in this World are agonized, wounded for more reasons than anyone may decipher.
Where’s the compassion? For another human being. It’s so much going on in the world, it makes one want to hollar. Somebody please tell me what’s going on in the world....

Premium Member Agonized Mind
After life’s shipwreck you’ll float again
if you get a place in the divine boat,
life will retrieve lost rhythm you’ll see.
Like the rolling waves of serene sea,
imbibe the essence of ecstasy, be free,
make the agonized mind a calm sea.

A Plague
This place forsaken,
These shadows weighing upon the crust of the earth.
The agonized met by the savior of their predecessors,
Who's decaying kiss lay fresh upon seven blessed arrows.
The savior calls to the silence, beckoning eternity's arrival,
life's departure.
Souls tortured by a savior's stain;
The savior beckoned the rise of a Saint....

For Our Sins
He took the blows of crippling pain.
He agonized for selfless gain.
He marched his cross to calvary.
He braved the scorn and savagery.

For all our sins, he bled and died,
though, only few have ached and cried;
And from the grave, he rose again,
so, from his fond ways, we could gain.

The Rules We Flout
The Rules people flout
Often send them out:
For their replacement a scout
For viable hands I’d tout …
Their exit sure in the next bout
And as sure on their lips a pout.

The Rules you flout
Might your dreams rout:
Agonized squeals force out
Of your agonized snout;
The Howls after a clout!

The strict Rules People Flout
Make them a Piece of Doubt
Mirror image of Lout....

Hesitation Inched
She was working on being a mountain
but lacked the kind of rocks
that don't roll downhill.

Nobody saw her leave the room
or enter.
Sliding to the furthest corner
she agonized
measuring herself.

Mingling circles
backed their backs away

The girl wanted so much
to say something,
to engage the crowd,
to stand out.

Hesitation inched on.

She disappeared once more
into silence....

The Verdict Is In
Troubled Times of Turmoil
Coming back around again
Curses; always foiled!
My agonized and worried Brain!

Like an Army of Needles-
Poking; prodding!
As Agents of Evil,
Laughing; applauding!

Stabbing every inch of me-
Tear my flesh; scar my Soul
Cannot run; cannot flee!
Leave me raw; leave me exposed!

Find me G-U-I-L-T-Y
Mind is F-I-L-T-H-Y
Kill me Q-U-I-C-K-L-Y

*Another old experimental piece I found...

Attached Souls
Sincerely, it’s sad;
Heart-arching
Soul-dampening
Hearing “Farewell” bid
By the beloved,
Truly it’s bad;
Tearing apart
This touching attachment
Of utmost feeling: love!
It’s damned fearful;
Listening to the distressed,
Agonized, pained and solemn
Expressions of a heart
Beset by beating confessions.
It’s indeed madness;
Tearing apart attached souls,
Sailing across life’s coasts
In love’s vessel!...

She Lives
She flushes and drops bright eyes
to hide my image...
I cup her face and drown it.

     [me]

She breathes hesitantly, mouth
Pressed and obstinate...
I gather her corners up.

     [drawing that smile again]

She welts tearlines onto the
Pale perfection: skin...
I wet my thumbs, agonized.

     [her sorrow breaks]

She sleeps, curls framing movement
And serenity...
I weave myself into both.

     [touching the ends of eternity]...

Blissful Spit
in battle I am my own General,
a puffing cigar alone in my thoughts.
I contemplate my valley,my path,
in this complex strategy to living.

a cup of coffee at the right time
is as fulfilling as a nostalgic hymn.
March On!! my body and mind say to me,
though my scares have beaten the vulnerability
from my agonized soul.

I am a prizefighter who leads the world
in moral victories,no myth is to great,
for I'm a stain on the floor of a slaughter house....

Premium Member You Writhe and Squirm
You writhe and squirm, twist and bend,
Agonized for thirst of air.
And I’m bound by chains onto the ground,
Chained like a slave to a chair.

Still you dance on the edge, the open sill,
The sill open for a shattered erase.
Dressed in beautiful, dressed to kill,
An intoxicating purple tipped lace.

Are you just an idea, a butterfly notion,
Are you more than a theory to lure?
Since every night asleep, all I dream is of you,
Till you vanish in a puff of obscure....

Haunted
His agonized inhabited mind haunted
by peaceless imaginative thought,
extremely distressed, his spirit daunted
with severe revelations of supernatural
phenomenon, so distorted caricatural
features indescribable by the untaught,

exorcism perceived as emotional relief
for his tormented mind created by him,
comforted by his faith and strong belief
miraculous event now urgently desired
penance to alleviate his guilt required,
tormented by ghostly sight of his victim.
