Brother Sister
You're silence reminds me of the voices of the unborn. Loving yet unloved.

high rise
get high rays
and wetter
on wet days
closer
to aeroplanes
in lanes like cars
soldiers of concrete
steel feet in wars
in pillars
like Lot’s wife
or muggers
with sharp knife
hanging in blocks
or flocks
stabbing the sky...

The Art of Noise
Clocks ticking
Fingers clicking
Bands playing
Christians praying

Trees blowing
Rivers flowing
Birds singing
Bells ringing

Midnight chimes
Two or three times
Flowers appearing
Crowds cheering

Clouds in the sky
Aeroplanes ready to fly
Engines running
Bees humming...

Yankee Spelling
Having no colour honour or even humour
such a shame on you
liking glamour honour and favour just for weddings
and there the colourist painters
anaemic thoughts let us not be paralysed by our difference
like in the aeroplanes above
we do both now travel
and dream of the Broadway theatres

(lettuce keep our connexion)...

Sleep Sweetly
Sleep sweetly Jay, sleep sweetly

Will you dream of toys

Of little cars, and dinosaurs

You precious little boy.

Sleep sweetly Jay, sleep sweetly

All cosy in your bed.

Will you dream of aeroplanes,

Or puppy dogs instead.

Sleep sweetly Jay, sleep sweetly

Close your weary eyes,

Mum will lay down by your side,

And sing you lullabies....

placing a pen upon the desk
aligned with paper
grooves of wood and knots in stain
as if absorbed in thought and mind
they seep from below
as if the stars there influence a blueprint
of aeroplanes
of vision
or easel's frames direct the brush
that strokes
pushing colour
pushing shade
and crystal imperfections
guiding a cutters tool
of life and all it throws
I remain the asked man

The Roma Tribe
The Roma

I can’t stop thinking of the Roma people
There are many of them in Algarve,
Horse and cart to the annoyance of car drivers.
Horse manure their only pollution.

When a bank goes belly up, you can’t sue them
For misusing your deposit.

When all aeroplanes have stopped flying and
Cars are rusting by the roadside, and there are no donkeys
To plough the fields, the Roma people will continue
Their journey towards the sunset....

Goth Fly
There's a fly in the house of goth. On the wall listening in. What's being said? The fly is keeping quiet. If you wanna know, go there yourself. The house of goth is a dark old place. Full of people like me. Are you one of them? Or an outcast? Not even suitable for the house of goth. For we are the goths. Even flies are welcome in the house of goth.

Valentines Coming
A fading sunset with pink tinted clouds.
With aeroplanes leaving pink crosses in the sky.
The trees have shed their leaves, dropping little brown tears.
You're breaths like a dragons with the cold air.
Hands in your pockets but a smile on your face
at the wonder of nature on this winters day.
A one for sorrow magpie, no sign of his mate.
And a dog walker walking with his doggie best mate.
Nights getting lighter and so is my heart
as the 14th of February comes into sight ....
