Lesson

To lose my heart
Will be a failure
Considering the man
Who comes back home
Every night, torn from inside
A trembling smile
Being held together
With a familiar adhesive.

Premium Member His First Kiss

A handsome young bloke sported a cowlick
Highly adhesive -- to things it would stick
'Twas time for his first kiss
   He'd found the perfect miss
She stuck to that cowlick with gloss lipstick

Adhesive

it surrounds my heart
an easy feeling
bonding us together
love the adhesive
it's an absolute truth
between you and me
this road we're on
all limits exceeded
it's an abundant love
that we share

Stuck

Feet glued to your welcome mat,
our fingers meshed like Velcro
and pieces of our shattered hearts
haphazardly taped together;
my tears and your fidgeting
weaken the adhesive,
yet, we do not—
can not—
move.

A Miracle

super glue isn't super enough
masking tape just won't mask
duct tape isn't strong enough
for the quake that caused these cracks

nothing can hold it together
the crevices are too deep
no wonders of modern science
a miracle adhesive is what I need

Waste Paper Knots

Flimsy tissue paper bliss,
gift wrapped wafer-thin
  promises midst kisses,
glued together with
    yesterday's adhesive,
fallen as separate shrouds
   in wayward glances &
   capricious charades razing
     death do us part illusions
   of finale's papier-mâché knots

twitches belie pressure, nerve endings fray ~ in shock from the exposé

love child appears out of the blue ~ dna sticks tight, unlike cheap screw

damage done, tied is the splice ~ heat of the moment has balls in a vice

prenuptial’s void, tightening grip ~ busted now, far too late for that snip

On Nosebleeds

That palm-smeared red flower
blossoming down your fingers;
reminding you of when tying shoelaces
was an accomplishment.
When falling down wasn't a blessure,
but a scrap
- a prize worthy of adhesive
and swift kiss.

It is the instinct to lean back
and (*) give yourself an aneurysm.

*swallow; to take back what was once yours.

Keep It Together

Feelings kept together with the adhesive of emotion,
Will eventually fall apart.
Feelings crave nurturing and understanding,
The adhesive of life.

Emotions are swept in and out of our lives on waves of feelings,
Always ending crashing on the shore of existence.
Each experience ensure we learn and grow,
Till eventually life gives us the ultimate test...

Death.

My Kids

It’s been years
I synthesize the pictures
That I have
Adhesive binds my pictures
and I grasp… a pillow
I never washed dishes
While they laughed
Or ran my little girls bubble bath
Not to hot
If only I could rot in their faces
All they know is that
Daddy waste his time around them
Through image I kiss you all good night
I love you my kids
You kids be my life

Paste

Paste Resin Adhesive Shattered on the ground Porcelain, her cracked face Dripping sooty tears and snot. “And over these scars, we'll paste stars."

Premium Member Love Need Never Hurry

You hold my hand
aware of capacity
for bonding

hands can do that
fingers fond conduits
palms firm suctions
of secure presence

hands yielding
while they also solidify
the mystery of divine
grasp – adhesive nature
of caring touch, giving
while receiving
taking possession with
tender balance of freedom

Love need never hurry

ageless and timeless
the Royal Flush of Hearts

Pasties

two abreast
a wall of flesh
i left my coat
at the hat rack

from my mind
consumed
a looping
tune

that need be
written down
as for what
i found

on my finger
tips tapping
from a played
plucked string

that made
her sing
my score
board

pre prepared
paper squared
needing no
licking

self adhesive
to please
to post
what

i wrote
written
on those
sticky notes

Unglued

The mind holds many memories
Which cling to it like glue,
A storehouse of forgotten facts
You hardly knew you knew.

But as we age, the files get filled
And when we try to store
New knowledge or experience,
There isn’t room for more.

And that explains why I just read
A novel I’d once finished,
A little hint to let me know
My brain cells have diminished.

For just like old adhesive
Will no longer do the trick,
There comes a point within your brain
When nothing new will stick.
