Smoke and Mirrors
The more we think we know,

Smoke
Sparks alit
Fire burning
A stick, a cig
Accumulating

Smoke drifting
Ashes fleeting
Darting, floating
But never ceasing

Huffing puffing
Non-stop haling
Polluting, blighting
My lungs are dying...

Wrong Doings of Trump
Wrong Doings of Trump

Trump's wrong doings are vastly accumulating,
And results of each one has been humiliating;
Overhead waded;
Also, self-degraded;
Commit more corruption he is contemplating.

Tomb
The night falls
Dust from a thousand years
Accumulating on that which the eyes once saw
Obscuring
Still the breeze
Silence the sound
She sifts into the gaping mouth
Nil the breath
Fill the body with her shadow
To sleep for ten thousand more
This black tomb....

Premium Member A Special Offer
Pick up an offer
You'll find a new adventure
A deduction of prices
A quick accumulating crowd
A long queue of patience
And a challenge of temper
A traffic jam
And a lost of precious time
An extra expenditure
And a new debt
And a risk to Covid-19
Really an underestimated offer...

Premium Member A Headache
A headache is not
Simply healed with a pill
When it happens to be
A gigantic problem without a solution
A non-ending pile of work accumulating
A deadline without any bonus of time
A state of tiredness without a break
And so a headache lingers on
Until a decision is reached tomorrow...

Premium Member Laughable Time
Eternity laughs at "time."
Our big clumsy clocks
hanging off the walls
dictating the pace of
our insignificant planet...
with selfish inhabitants
accumulating more things
buying more clocks.
Strutting the barnyard
sniffing for mates
to lay nuclear eggs.

Eternity laughs at
the bones of brevity
of which we'll become....

Listen to poem:
February Snow
David J Walker

I see snow from
My window
Silently gliding to
The ground
Accumulating on
The rooftops
Freezing on the brown
Branches of trees covered in a
White frosting that leaves
Me with a shiver
February snow delivers
The last lap around
The sun before Spring
When all New things
Take over...

Premium Member How Much Do You Hate It
ME: "I hate money so much."
AUDIANCE: "How Much Do You Hate It!?"
ME: "I hate money so much that I do everything I can to avoid useing it,
now I'm out of debt,
and I appear to be accumulating more money also as a result of it."
AUDIANCE: "Boo! Not Funny!"
ME: "Wasn't meant to be,
I was speaking truthfully."
The above is when I gave up my pursuit of a career in comedy....

By Myself
I saw myself
with just myself reflecting
on unfinished notes of winter past--
the coldest front icing evenings
where a fireplace became a chilled shelter
of unwanted dazed musings
as I traveled within time's slow compass.
Your wool jacket dangles tonight
on a hook accumulating lint and stale mint,
while spring floods our garden with foliage--
and I'm alone by myself....

For Cheap Thrill's

Accumulating Interest

Until your Closet is Full

Of Discarded Clutter

You can hopefully Sell 1 late night on E-Bay

Out there phishing just like you

For Space Fillers

To place on Mantle Pieces

Where Photographs used to Play

Before the Recession Funk had time to Set...

Coming Storm
Tail lights fade slowly
as she drives away
the room is silent
her perfume lingers
accumulating on the horizon
like a storm cloud...

Her whispers remain
as a distant mutter
dampness on the sheets
I glow in the halo of her pleasure

Is this sweet love?
rain is falling
clouds roll winds of change
sky turns blue and black...

Caught in loves ambrosial rain
storm, I know you are coming...

Premium Member Futility
Out into the rainy streets,
the desolate, deserted byways
far beyond any visible horizons,
he entrusted his life force--
Energy that came back to him
as so many drafts and drizzles,
accumulating over the years
as puddles that caught his feet
and pounded at his foundations.
He was asked about the saying
that what goes around, comes around;
but the query became an echo,
and his response, too hollow to grasp....

Sifting Regrets
SIFTING REGRETS

Bright coloured buckets— yellow, red and blue
Tiny holes underneath—sifting sand breezing through
Children on beaches, simple treasures of nature
Beautiful shells revealed simply-- effortless labour

Sifting circumspectly our lives with a fine-tooth comb
Examining—separating debris – our island home
Wasted years, accumulating material clutter
Relationships, precious moments - time closes the shutter...

Systematically Contrived Dust
The universe is immeasurable,
  we are merely infinitesimal
      machinery keeping pace,
as churning cogs tick wildly
  transmitting within allotted time,
attempting heartbeats' cohesion
  clocking our own honed destinations,
accumulating illusions 'tween masses
waiting to return as a speck of dust
      in the never-ending saga of
           inexhaustible collectives amidst
         systematically creative contrivances...

Dawn's Early Light
The slumbering earth gently awakens
to the purple rose of morning.
A new day begins with the setting
of a luminous full moon.
The sky is streaked with heaven's majesty
sprinkled with oceans of cottony clouds.
They slowly recede with the
accumulating heat of the morning sun.
Rays of light sneak up through the vapors
creating a sky full of rainbows
scattered here and there.
Once again, the darkness retreats
with Dawn's Early Light....

Dreamland
The carousel slows to a stop,

circular light bulbs flickering.

Light to

Nothing,

to light.

An instant so minute

it drags on.

-

The roller coaster loops,

traversing into another dimension.

A world in between,

almost, not quite

escaping

gravity. Reality

is as far as we go.

-

Cotton candy clouds are made

by going in circles.

Accumulating large clumps

from nearly invisible wisps.

Maybe that is why

they disappear on first taste

leaving only sticky fingers....

Enough
Why do I complicate my life,
 in a culture of expectations.
Overcome by damn frustrations,
wasting my future years in strife.

Chasing things I don’t want or need,
 accumulating useless .
Is it stupidity or greed,
either would be hard to admit.

Living is so much more than just stuff,
based on an icebergs lofty tip,
held in a tight white knuckle grip.
Gathered bits wring one's heart rough,
when you don't know you have enough.
