Hafez and I grew up together
in Shiraz, centuries apart with
similar poetic ether.
Wandering the world together
as if from the same mother.
We were never actually together
the word reincarnated is better.
He lives in me and we suffer together
humanity's woes and ethnic the other.
We're global intellectuals chanting together
not the salute of flags and land of the mother
we preach the ethos of unity and together
in trenches of peace and harmony with the other.
We renounce war as our destiny together
and throw nationalism to dustbin as we gather,
tall we stand, and humble, together
on shoulders of giants like Tolstoy, Schweitzer, Camus and reverent other
But, wait, Hafez has asked to write a new stanza together
song of world peace and none other.
In you, full of yourself, we enter together
Go fill your heart with love of the other.

Autumn’s story is full of rustic shades
that echo deep from every vale and hill
of splendor and of forest colonnades,
as one by one leaves float and spin and spill
in frosted shadows and in evening’s chill
Dogwoods change,in carmine escapades,
to celebrate old summer’s standing still
Scarlet leaves and shades of marmalades
Shiraz, Claret and Burgundy distill
bright tones of nature for the soul to swill.
Amber, apricot and goldenrod brigades
capturing our gaze and hearts to thrill
Piles of forest treasures spillIng in cascades
with dappled browns and caramel’s goodwill,
All opulence of Autumn to fulfill

I'm giving up the life of lush
for that of a lowly pensioner.
The wife is too,
though to give her her due,
I said that I wouldn't mention her.
I'm cutting my cloth accordingly,
no more hedonistic soirées.
Gone are the excesses,
hyperbole and stresses
of this callow youths former days.
Now is the time for quiet reflection,
watching others make my mistakes.
Seeing them all careening along
with no thought of applying the brakes.
I could give them the benefit of my experience
if they'd a mind to take heed,
but to have a scar to remember it by,
well, first you must let it bleed.
So I'll just sit here and ruminate
with a glass or three of Shiraz
and let the young make their own mistakes
whilst I listen to Blues and some Jazz.
Then I'll look at the hand that's been dealt me,
and wonder should I go lower or higher?
I think I'll just stick, shout the wife to 'come quick'!
and throw another peasant on the fire.

Her hair, her beautiful blonde curls,
Her hair drapes to her butterfly shoulders.
And I stand beside her, a quiver,
As my love, my lion hearted love, smoulders.
Her lines, her wine glass curves, intoxicate,
Get me drunk with anticipation.
Waiting for her wave to break,
And surf our love in synchronization.
Then the real opera, the perform and show,
Her dark red lips reach, eating within.
They kiss the dark red rose, devouring each petal,
Devouring with a dark red grin.
Her body’s my shiraz, her lips splash a red carefree laugh,
Her figure’s a French divine.
I am drunk on her love, punched with her warmth,
She’s my unadulterated red wine.

I wined and dined you but you wined at me,
you wound so much, it corked.
then when we sniffed the cork of love:
you popped my cork,
my; what a corker!
fruit you said: and rang the glass to chill report
Oh!.. never was there ruby depth like this before.
thus another trip to the cellar I thought/lost in
wine’s bumptious nose
Cheese? …only when selling ..never when buying
I’m sold on you Delilah!
steady boy/hold the glass: Shiraz is calling.
hold your trousers and their fighting dog at bay,
save the passion/ Syrah has its sweet way!
we’ll let the sun pour forth. Bachus show the way!

She has such beautiful eyes,
That proclaimed romance
This stance
Is not enough to praise
Her profound beauty.
Bleeding from the open door,
Her tears are swiftly serenading
the rhythm of life.
With a gentle apparel,
And beauty so fine,
With age became sweeter
With time it blossomed ripe.
She has such beautiful eyes
That I can built a shrine
Of love to glorify her..

1.
Kathleen
Firehaired love of my life;
She's almost all Cab, with a dash of Shiraz spice.
A deep and complicated, earthy wife
A ruby sparkle in the looking glass
Long upon my vision, soft and nice
The All-of-Her bouquet, I cannot pass.
2.
Susan
She may prefer to drink her Cabs,
But the red-maned lioness is pure Bourdeaux.
Her brightness fills a room, and quickly nabs
Away all weak indifference.
The complexity of her shines and glows;
The product of some special provenance.
These ladies make my life divine,
An enviable medly of song and wine.
They may well land on the "NO FLY" List,
For being such charming Terroirists.

JACK DANIELS met JIM BEAM at the CANADIAN CLUB to discuss their upcoming trip on the
CUTTY SARK. They were planning to go south for some SOUTHERN COMFORT, but when the
ship had a fire, they thought they might have to SCOTCH their plans.
JOHNNY WALKER, who had a disagreement with them over their SLOE GIN game, wanted to
give them both a SAKI in the nose. "VODKA ya think you're doing?! cried JIM and JACK.
"It's not like EARLY TIMES!!"
CAPTAIN MORGAN came over, and BRANDY, the waitress, brought his VO to their table. He
tried to calm things down by talking about his last trip. "How BLUE CURACAO was...and the
mornings were alive with the TULLAMORE DEW!" He said.
"You've got a lot of GALIANO...to interrupt us like this!!" They RUMbled.
Before a TRIPLE SEC had passed, the CHRISTIAN BROTHERS were there to calm all the
DEWERS down and restore a HYPNOTIQ sense of peace, ALIZE for the time being.
For their efforts, they were awarded with shouts of SHIRAZ and the thanks of the king of the
club. He was not wearing his 7 CROWN, but instead, his CROWN ROYALE.

Lollipops sweet and tasty in dream shape pick,
Glassy red crystalline curve to do the trick,
Pick one in white stick or choose the blonde with wig.
Hard and quick juicy punch drives the land gig.
Wild card targets ticking time bomb on the green,
Joker plays Dumb-Shiraz against the wind screen,
Hats off to the man who clicked in to reveal;
Tarot readers claim they knew of this ordeal.
Praise fortune tellers for they hide their true scars;
Goggle's in red hot hits, battles with faultless cars.

Wine of multi nuanced flavour,
Many coloured & aromas to savour;
Final judgment,always in the taste,
Swirled & swallowed without haste.
Bottles,magnums & jereboam,
Bouquets,hints oflemon & jam;
Chadonnay,Shiraz,Sauvignon
Tempranillo,Merlot jostle in a throng.
Wein,germanic,labelled methodical,
Whitesunsurpassed & gastronomical;
Top of the list,Bernkastel Moselle,
As aperitif or with food,just swell.
A trinity of champagned,sherry& port,
The last from political pressure brought;
Once England's larges wine import,
It remains,Stilton's best escort.
Beaujolais,loved by the ligh-hearted,
Crushed from Gamay fruit so red;
Perfect to quench a lngering thirst,
An annual race to the import, first.
Sparkling,still,filtered or fine,
None can surpass Rioja's reserva wine;
From Ebro at a thousand feet,
Oak aged,ripened after summer heat.
