On misty road
Not quite yet dark

The landscape growls
No warning bark

Be vigilant
As hidden here

Inside your mind
Uncaptured fear

They roam outside
To trap, ensnare

Grey blanket hides
The monsters there

The causeway twists
Into the clouds

Boundaries draped
In vapour shrouds

Blink too long
In hypnotic mist

Mistakes will spiral
Into it's dark abyss

Already giants
Peer from the grey

Entice you for
"a feast" they say

Hold your nerve
Be strong, be stable

Don't accept the call
To the giants' table

Bayonet

Long bayonet, blood channel
Breaks suction to pull loose
After the thrust and twist so it is
Quickly ready for its next use.
Lovingly polished, honed and whet
Of finest steel, Sheffield made
A thing of beauty
This thirsty blade.

Seeming to quiver in the hand
As though anticipating his thrill
As he patiently waits for
The chance of his next kill.
Clothed all in black
With blackened face
Standing motionless
In his chosen place.

The watchers watch, monitor
His dreams, read his despair
The experiment conducted
With precision and great care.
Probing deeply in his mind
To discover why
He gets such pleasure from
Watching others die.

This tormented man
Creation of warring state
Trained to kill without
Remorse or hate.
Nobody prepared
To take their blame
For what he did
In their cause and name.

The probes record
His remembered hell
Tick, quiver, in his brain
As he sleeps in his cell
In his mind ready to thrust
And twist his bayonet blade
Long and shining and sharp,
Stainless Sheffield steel made.

96 Reasons - Hillsborough

96 fans awoke that day
travelled to Sheffield to see their heroes play
96 had tickets for Leppings Lane
96 never returned home again
96 people packed in, gasping for breath
praying for life enduring death
96 names etched on a memorial plaque,
next to an eternal flame
96 lives lost watching the beautiful game
96 families reduced to tears
still fighting for justice after all these years
96 souls not left in peace yet
96 reasons to never forget

Cities

The big debate : “What is a city ?” –
A town created by a charter
And often with cathedral church
But sometimes with an ancient abbey.

St David's, Pembroke is the smallest,
Just twelve hundred citizens
And London is by far the largest,
Populous eight million plus.

Many sprawling conurbations
Are the backbone of our nation :
There's Leeds and London, Bath and Bristol,
Canterbury, Sheffield, Hull;
Then Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburgh,
Norwich, Wells and Peterborough,
Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester,
Swansea, Truro, Chichester,
Worcester, Portsmouth, York and Belfast,
Carlisle, Chelmsford, Perth.

In cities there is entertainment
With cinema and theatre too,
Museum, gallery and concert hall –
A cultured way of relaxation.

A city has a green side too
With parks and gardens to explore,
Pedestrian precincts help us shop
Away from traffic noise and fumes.

I recommend a city visit,
So many secrets are in store.
Leave your car outside the ring-road,
Hop on a bus to start your tour.

The Birth of My Nom De Plume

Nakameche, my nom de plume, born on the 17th day in the month after June, a typhoon, tycoon, a disastrous, resplendent, handsome, rich dude, nothing mendacious or fictitious, a poetic bishop, an inheritance of God’s bonafide boon, the stars watch me as I watch them, they whisper graphic symbols that only Nakameche can translate with a pen, thy felt tip double dipped in Eve-n-Adam’s blood, on glazed onion skin, written in love, rainbows, waterfalls -n- warbling doves, colored in passion, sketched with graphic symbols in a design fashion, to love me is all I’m asking, Nakameche, my nom de plume, born on the 17th day in the month after June, Nakameche possess his own galaxy, his own sun, his own stars -n- his own moons, born Nakym Sheffield on the 17th day in the month after June, Nakameche, my nom de plume.

A Million Miles of Faithful

Venice, 2 Milan, then 2 the Congo, then 2 Cape Town
Then Hong Kong

I stay being a faithful husband, with my ring on my
Ring finger, on Baghdad, 2 the Bahamas, 2 O-ka-ya-ma,
2
O-kee-cho-bee
2
O•ke•fe•no'kee

2 the United Kingdom embassy, on a private jet 2 Bairiki, 2 Bu-run-di, 2 Burgundy, now in a helicopter landing on a yacht, traveling the speed of a 1,000 knots in a thunderstorm, going 2 Sheffield, England, then 2 Tahiti

I have an emergency, well a sense of an urgent urgency, I’m horny and so is she, my wife-n-me, so I travel home -n- turn our bedroom into a successful, gorgeous, tragic tragedy, while we climax from a sexual, exotic catastrophe, my wife-n-me, I make love 2 the only woman who owns all of me, 4 I never cheat, so no matter where I go, or who I see, in my mind, heart-n-private parts, it’s all about she, it’s all about my wife-n-me, until the death of me.

2 her I’m faithful
-n-
Tranquil -n- 4 her
I’m thankful, what’s up baby?

My Mother's Twin

Passionate symbols symbolized
Theories theoretically theorized
The semblance of your semantics synchronized
What you mean to me I wish it could be
Televised worldwide, vividly seen through
The world’s eyes, Kalani Sheffield, you’re the
Passionate symbol, my soul has symbolized.

Premium MemberMy Christmas Thank You To a Doctor Called Di,

Thank you Diana

How do you thank someone for giving you twenty-five years of extra life

Yes twenty-five years extra, Of being a Mother, Nanny and Wife.

How do you thank someone for being there for you
.
When you were so ill, you didn’t know what to do.

You thank them by, now being the person you want to be
.
And showing the world on live TV.

You thank them by doing all the things you never got the chance to do before.

When you couldn’t even venture out the door.

You thank them by living your life in the fast lane again
.
Now you are free of the nightmare, free of the pain.

You thank them by shopping at a packed Sheffield Meadowhall
.
A couple of weeks before Christmas, you are having a ball
.
You thank them by going to see your fav’ourite singer Cliff
.
You sit there with 12,000 people just to do this.

You thank them by running a helpline for others

meeting fantastic people along the way
.
You thank them by living your life day by day
.
You thank them by just being you,

You thank them in everything that you do.

Premium MemberThe Human League

The 80's electronic band
The Human League
Came from Sheffield England
My home town
Phil Oakey
The lead singer
Had his hair short on one side
The over long hanging down.

He met the two girl singers
Who were dancing
In the crazy Daisy pub
He liked what he saw
and singed them up
To go on tour.

Such hits as 'Being boiled'
'Mirror man'
'Don't you want me''
And''The sound of the crowd'
Were played in many clubs and bars
Often loud.

He is one of the reasons I play synthesizers
Myself today
Now bald as a badger
His famous long locks gone
But he still writes
And can still sing a song.

Other local bands, Def leopard, Heaven 17, ABC ,Pulp, Artric monkeys,
Jarvis cocker, Joe cocker, Richard Hawley,
Living in a box, Baby bird, Paul Carrick, Tony Christie. Rev and the Makers, and many others.
