In realms of dreams, where magic is born in the late evening hour,
A hidden paradise in whispers and in the descending moonlight's power.
Beautiful settings, love like an old perfume, beyond description,
Amber eyes burning with vows in the fire of a dream's depiction.
On this earth, seductive and full of love, we lose our senses completely,
Shadows of the past dance with longing, reminding us of love sweetly.
The summer night binds us in sweet kisses and uninterrupted whispers,
How many memories hide in words, how many unseen longings it whispers.
We lose ourselves in time, carried by the wind singing eternity's song,
The enchanted soul flies like a bird seeking freedom all along.
Sweet smiles on corners of dreams, painted in rainbow hues that last,
The sweet torment remains forever, like an echo of unending longing from the past.
Night of dreams, lost paradise, sweet love that envelops us with ease,
We, lost and dreaming, with hearts full of immortal longing to seize.

Spring Gleaning

Spring Gleaning

. for public domain

Our love can offer lifetimes
with what little time is left,
heal wounds, bring welcome comfort,
to the lonely and bereft.

In the midst of dark distress
Hope and Faith can flourish.
Settings at Heaven's banquet table
spark famished souls to nourish.

Embrace a worn and weary heart,
take in our lost and broken,
be Godlike with a loving hand,
show Heaven's door is open.

I had to change
email addresses.
I couldn't keep up
with the alt accounts—
ten helpings
of the same subject.

you know they're automatic?
after you sign up
you have to go to settings,
unenroll—
seems like too much.

I'd miss
dopamine's dinner bell—
notifications.
Only to remember:
I was the commenter.

It's a rush
worth the risk—
a chance,
to re-visit myself,
dressed
in your jumper.

Premium MemberEchoes of Silent Waves

Written May 30th for Contest by Craig Cornish

            *****************

Silence slowly dims into space,
heaves gently over words and lines
words and whispers whirl with awe
despite hindrance, I strive to spell
the range of emotions whirling—
a restless sea.

Semantics and syntax—alien to my root tongue,
linguistic rules and policies
taught in sterile settings
harvest dust while I strive for the right!

Tune in to your heart—
select the right spectrum
repelling ripples resemble ink fading into water
a wavelength for moonlight threading.

No lexicon conveys the implicit clamor of the vernacular,
woven via deft looks, we have created
our crypto-system, carved on our skin
Inscribed in whispers—
whispered through silence—
hush as heavy as viscous fog.

GLORY BE TO GOD

Healing thanks to God,
sun risings, and sun settings;
Each day, a blessing:-

OF PARADISE LOST

Apple fell from tree,
Teasing snake tricked she and he,
Leaving you and me,
Evicted from paradise,
Where all was peace, love, and nice:-

HALTING EVIL WINDS

Horror winds blowing,
Breezing political grief;
God’s halting coming:-

GLORIOUS SUNSHINE

His sunshine lights up
The spirit of each day’s heart;
Come God, light up mine’s too,
Always reflecting your light
In daily labors of love:-

OF ANY AND EVERYTHING

What can God not do?!
Not a question, an answer;
Glory be to God!
There is nothing God can’t do!
Thus, be today’s awareness:-

Premium MemberBreaking, Escaping My Doldrums

Being in a rut is driving me nuts.
I feel trapped in this doldrums.
In my mind, I am screaming …
Please, somebody! Get me out!

Writing is hard, nothing comes to mind.
Going out is tough, even to the market.
All I do is read, transporting me to Boston,
and Vermont, the settings of the stories.

Need to write, but my muse is not around.
Need to move, but cannot find my groove.

Breathe! Need to do something, do something …
Ahhh, put make up on, a leather mini skirt to
show sexy legs, a halter hot pink top and now
I feel hot, hot, hot … ole, ole … bye, doldrums!

Premium MemberOctober, You Amaze Me

God in all His majesty
gives us now His tenth great gift
of multifarious joys.

Ghostwinds whistle lilting tunes,
motivating dancing leaves
to make their scuttling noise.

Distant hills are masterpieces.
God, the Artist, planned the blend
of reddish brown and gold.

Mums and pumpkins fill their spots
in front-yard settings bright and bold.

Premium MemberEverything I Need

If life taught me anything,
	It taught me –
		Love is the only thing
			worth everything

love is worth more than things
more than cars or trinkets
more than pearls or diamonds
more than a house so inviting

love is worth more than dreams
more than poetry and prose
more than inklings of creative hopes
more than a vision, a famed note

love is worth more than trips
more than vacation settings
more than cruise or cabin
more than a luxurious spa

if life has taught me anything at all,
	it taught me –
		love is the one thing
			more important than anything

love is the one thing more important
than all the items money can buy,
all the blue in the big autumn sky,
all the warmth of a summer’s night…

love is the reason that I will always try
love is the reason that I’ll never say goodbye
to the one who I love more than my own life –

if life has taught me anything – it’s that love is truly everything!

Women
we all know are
so many knobs and buttons
strings and levers
volumes and settings
push or pull?
up or down?
speak into the mic
of adjust the equaliser?
all so very confusing
for a simple man

I think I have more chance
with this Rubik's cube
I hold in my hand

Premium MemberIN AND OF THOUGHFUL AWARENESS

A breathless black bird cannot fly,
Yet, a drowned fish can still float in water;
You can eviscerate its tongue, but you
Cannot unring a rung bell;
But you can knee a black man’s neck,
And he’ll never breathe again;
You may oppressively beat us to the ground,
But we shall rise again;
For we are indeed,
The children of blood and thunder
And we shall not stay down:-

No, a breathless black bird cannot fly,
Yes, a drowned fish can still float in water;
Though the pandemic road ahead
May be rough and rugged,

We’re well equipped with bulldozer souls;
Like butterflies, we may be cocooned in metamorphosis,
Yet, we shall soar with eyes on the prize;
We’re like the circadian moon—waning—
But always waxing back to fulfillment;
Like the sun going to its evening horizon settings,
We too, shall continue to rise again and again:-

Everyone is somehow involved

Just right before the love got intense,
I made a friend that openly told me love towards his bestfriend.
And when I sat more often in group settings,
where he openend up telling honestly:"he is the worst"
I've felt left sided,
just behind the door when the time of the ecounter was up,
and a girls nose bled,
I helped her to clean the ground.
When I got appreciated by the teacher, and you said:"wow".
I couldn't tell or spill a single word,
but then said she loves him and then everything came one by one.
Me getting rejected by him,
she getting rejected by his.
The only difference,
that she had told me,
but I did not tell her.

"Between us, tell me, do you have a crush on my bestfriend?'
..
..

"No"

And 1 year later, her messages got leaked.
And mine not.

She crying in my arms,
and me wishing him good luck.

He hadn't care about her blunt gun shot Red eyes.
But his hold me tight.

Resetting privacy settings

The human history unfolding,
Adam eyed an apple so tempting,
He asked innocent Eve
A helping hand to give--
Let’s reset our privacy setting.
_________________________
Tongue-in-cheek |08.09.2024| Humour

Poet’s note: Adam and Eve were enjoying their bliss of innocence in Eden Garden, and Adam eyed an apple. We all know what happened. That was the first time Adam and Eve changed their privacy settings. The first was the fig leaf and found far too brief. Today, what with internet hackers and crooks all around, changing privacy settings has become common.

Thou Shalt Not

In Louisiana, there’s a law
That people ought to hate,
About the 10 Commandments,
Which defies church versus state.

For every public classroom
Must, in giant font, display
These rules, where courts already ruled
That students need not pray.

Of course, no one should kill or steal
Or covet, but for all,
The Lord and Sabbath references
Should not be on the wall.

In private or religious settings,
Thou shalt save a spot
For the 10 Commandments, but in public
Buildings, thou shalt not!
