Premium Member Set Free

When she finds her place
and spreads her wings
God has taken care of everything.
He gave her freedom
from the bonds and chains
so she could bring glory
to His name.
She can live without fear
and stop hiding in the shadows.
She knows that no matter where she goes
God will always follow.
She was never alone
and never will be
because it was God
that set her free.

Premium Member Set me free

When my eyes close for my final sleep
Don't dig a hole to burie me deep

Release my soul into a westerly breeze
Close to nature flowers and trees

Make it at sunrise at the first light of day
For The rays of the sun to show me the way

With the mist rolling in and the fresh morning dew

This is my last request that I hope you will do

So When I close my eyes and I will no longer be

Please do what I ask and set my soul free

Premium Member Merry Mushroom Canister Set

In the 1970’s, merry mushroom canisters were offered by Sears Roebuck
Many of us put them into our wish lists, along with a sponge-holding duck later I learned that mushrooms meant pot, but at first I did not know
I cherished these canisters for their earthy whimsy; I truly loved them so….

Premium Member Set In Our Ways

I try to tell myself
as often as possible that
I know nothing

you see, then there is
always open to learn

I see nothing
so my eyes must stay
sharp

I hear nothing
so I listen
even into the silence

I am never there
so time should not be
wasted

keep trying to prove
my love

appreciated by those
who also hold me dear

Premium Member a matched set

He is boorish, churlish, an overbearing lout
my old maiden aunt introduced him all about
he’s my man, she announced, with a giddy shout
they are a matched set, I have no doubt

Premium Member a smelly muddy matched set

the dog is muddier than I feel
we are both grimy
gritty
ridiculously filthy
the dog and I
He’s been mudding
I am super casual
in my pajamas for the sixth day
we are a smelly matched set

Premium Member One set of footprints

There are times in my grieving journey
that I am reminded of the love of God
as he holds me close and carries me
through this very hard journey

He puts people in my path specifically to
help me, I wholeheartedly believe
He prompts people to check on me,
when I am not ok, so I have a friend to lean on

He helps me to concentrate when I absolutely
can't read the page in front of me due to grief brain
He walks with me on this journey in a way I have never
felt before, and I am very grateful

May Hope and Faith set you free
By Michelle Morris
29/06/2025

You read a poem about the Good Bones
And I could feel your sadness
Those words about unkind people
How the World was filled with madness

But even if there's just one
One little Light in the Dark
It can create a ripple
Ignite Humanity's Spark

So today, let it be me
Let me be that Spark for you
Let my Love and Light enfold you
Give back your Faith and Hope and Truth

For we are all in this together
We need each other more than ever
There is Hope for a better tomorrow
If we humans would just stick together

Anything is possible
Magic and Miracles happen all the time
Remember that you are one
Part of the Universe Divine

God and His Angels love you
They want the best for you and me
May my Light dispel the Darkness
And may Hope and Faith set you free

Playful Scene

Act one had just begun
on the day we met
how was I to know the die was cast
and the stage was set

Act two what was I to do
when you stole my soul
who'd have guessed the part was mine
and I would play a leading role

Act three now you're with me
I put my heart into all I do
should I fall before curtain call
I could put my heart in you

Act four can't ask for more
I won't miss a line or cue
it's beyond my wildest dreams
a fairy tale come true

Premium Member my wild west came in on a tv set

Marshall Dillon in Gunsmoke
Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide
Paladin Have Gun will Travel
John Wayne in bunches of westerns
the pattern was easy....
The cowboys always win
Hero wears a light hat
Villain is stuck with black hat
Indians never win
TV in the 60’s gave me new terms
Dance hall girl, sage brush, wagon train
I reminisce about the wild west I know

Premium Member To speak the truth in a world woven with lies is to set yourself on fire like a torch

To speak the truth in a world woven with lies is to set yourself on fire like a torch,
Just to prove you were never made of wax melted under absent gazes,
They praise polite silence, mute nods, and false smiles that hide the void,
But they tremble when your words come unfiltered, sharp, soaked in everything they fear,
And they act as if speaking facts is a sin that burns under the light of day.
You offered them honesty, and they returned it cracked, called you cruel for bleeding openly,
In a world that only applauds masks, where every truth shatters into unheard echoes,
Being honest is a heavy task, not just a simple policy, but an effort to remain whole,
And even in democracy, where voices should be free, honesty is viewed as a flaw.
So, if you think telling the truth is simple, oh, no, sir, it's an unwavering mission,
A dance on the sharp edge of society that prefers to hear only what is sweet and soft,
But perhaps, in this fire, courage will be found to burn all masks, to light the way,
To a world where truth is no longer a burden, but a release from the chains of lies.

SET BACK TO GET BACK 2025

**"Set Back to the Get Back"**

Some people agree, while others disagree; it’s hard to please everyone I see. Do you disagree? Some want me to feel their pain, demanding sympathy without offering any in return. How can they prevail? It’s hard to believe I was once just like them. It’s called “The Set Back to Get Back,” right where they need to be. There won’t be any love lost for a lost cause—wimpy, lazy kids; grown men acting like lazy boys just to bounce back off the springboard.

Those unhappy ones cry like a dreary, rainy night in London. Luck rounds out just like time on wristwatches. Now, who is watching whom? Big Brother, you said you would paint the path, but I guess you left the brush behind. I’m painting a different scenery, voicing my own opinion just to get away. It’s hard to stand by the image that set me back; it’s just too hard to get back.

Premium Member Just set me free

All I have to do
to keep loving you
is to play that game
like you always do.

You hide your love
cause you were hurt before,
so you measure our love
like a game to score.

You stood by my side
till you took me for a ride
I couldn't have imagined it so,
You told me that you loved me,
but had other plans
to walk out and let me go.

BRIDGE:
I see how you avoid my kiss
hiding the love you know I miss.
If thats the way you wanna be,
Just set me free.

All I have to do is look into your eyes,
See the love you try to hide.
You measure love like a game to score
Just so you won't hurt no more.

Repeat bridge to end.

Interlude:
(Repeat bridge)

Premium Member One day, love will set, suffocated by the hatred that begs for mercy

One day, love will set, suffocated by the hatred that begs for mercy,
Drops of tears of regret will flow, guilty it will forever remain,
Because it was alive, because it was always there,
Because it held hearts in its palms with the utmost care,
Its whole life was a silent service, a dance of conquered freedoms,
Battles fought with unseen wings, but now, on its deathbed,
You cling to it desperately, as if your hatred were not
Enough to tear it apart, to suffocate it in its cold embrace.
But behold, love has paid the price of its sacrifice,
Watching as it fades in the arms of hatred, again and again,
Like an echo of a finished song, of a story that repeats,
In a universe where love becomes just a lost shadow,
And yet, even in its twilight, love rises,
From the ashes of regrets, from the depths of broken hearts,
Seeking to find a new beginning, a new place to rest,
In a world where hatred can no longer be its master.
