Flying above the torment and fray,
the blood drops from my wings
The scars I carry to then remind,
the true cost delivery brings
The clouds incumbent upon my soul,
their cover not to hide
But frame a backdrop of life ahead,
where on Angels wings I ride
My time below and my time above,
both present in me now
As the essence calls from which I’m made,
to return and shout aloud…
“I traveled the earth both far and wide,
its truth did I then search
But wisdom came to me instead
—and there I made my church”

How long before the cobwebs grow
on hopes deferred once bright
to toil long in patience grow
only to concede - "hey, it's life"
Tops of mountains beckon come
majestic sights and purest air
yet to perplexities we seem to succumb
when the present finds us ill-prepared
And so we linger looking up
the beloved trek unmade
for incumbent priorities to lose would crush
as we look with longing and walk away
In the vicinity of a perfect dream
gleaning from smiles that slowly grow
No sail to hoist but the ore rejoiced
for the love with which it rowed
Who can say the choices we make
will in the end prove wise
or show beyond the shadows doubt
to be promises of truth or lies
And so we take a leap of faith
for dreams we live and those we wish
fear and love they coexist
when the choice is choosing a mate

Imagine studying by firelight
Mastering lessons till late at night
Trudging through deep Illinois snow
No matter how cold, to school he’d go
Rising up as the best leaders do
To promoting equality, he stayed true
Debating Douglas in 1858
Defeating the incumbent on that date
Running for president to free each slave
Charting even then, the path to his grave
A noble quest for one born poor
Never a chance to sip life’s grandeur
He fought for his goal and he won
But sealed his fate; it was done
Assassin’s bullet claimed Lincoln’s life
Leaving a nation in sadness rife
But the equality he sought
To a healing nation, he brought
It’s said our best are doomed to die young
But his achievements have not gone unsung

Legacy of good name*
blest by the Lord since birth
shines through functional roles
midst triumphant milestones
propelled along love's might
reigning despite fake news.
With such verse, I present this name for our learning:
L.…. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva became the first president of Brazil
elected to three terms and the first since Getúlio Vargas to serve in non-
consecutive terms. He is also the first candidate to unseat an incumbent
president. He was sworn in on 1 January 2023.
U…..Ultimate in his commitments are the reconstruction of the
country in the face of the economic crisis; democracy, sovereignty and
peace; economic development and stability; fighting poverty; education;
implementation of a National System of Culture and the expansion of
housing programs.
L….. List of his international honours and awards included the
UNESCO Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize in 2008; meanwhile in 2012
he received Four Freedoms Award.
A…..Although he has his losses like his pinkie finger at age 17 in a
machinery accident, his reputation because of corruption scandals and
controversy, he can still choose to win by faith when he trusts the
Almighty God** Who is the Source of salvation-triumph and eternal life's
victory.
*Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
**1Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Aye did not heed the maxim be careful
what you wish for,
cuz now adversity not abate
perhaps helpful for thee reader
if this bard arse
did apprise present woe
by turning time machine backdate
asper how the fickle finger
of thine existence didst create,
a more agonizing situation discerning
scythe leant presaging grim reaper date
now welcomed with
opened arms to extricate
fools paradise by twist,
and shout of cruel fate
e'en locked up in a damp, dank,
and dark dungeon more grate
full, than full blown wraith zing hate
now lemme summarize
woe of this ingrate
where reprieve of death,
would be to good for me to jubilate
perhaps immolation, thence
at the stake burnt offerings
presented to the
"FAKE" trumpeting khanate
hence complete annihilation
the only way to liberate
a guilty conscious weighted down
by Sisyphean sized mill stones
now whit tis time mate
to acknowledge, and try to numerate
whereat one issue found me
reneging and being obdurate
on reimbursing me youngest daughter,
who could not pontificate
why she needed to fork
over monies in relation
to overpayment re
guarding social security,
essentially incumbent on me
on me eek quate
ting to a sizable tidy sum,
finding yours truly i rate
yet refund check she sent
over a year ago, and spate
of anger (born by eldest lass)
unforgivable egregious stonewalling
do to procrastination trait
this papa (rightfully my responsibility)
objects to bearing
brunt of arithmetical error
plus my own meager
very limited fiduciary reserves
induces anxiety to undulate
thus becoming fancy free
and foot loose bachelor
appears as emotionally
cannibalistic (ready
to jump off a bridge)
to shuck off this unbearable weight.

Awareness about behavior,
present since mine days of yore
an unswerving allie analogous
to peacekeeper ending civil war
belated insight suddenly realized
(better late than never) doth underscore
incumbent proactive communication stance
belatedly bestowed omnipotent awareness
crucial fostering ingredient to shore
maternal bond above
bejesus ear splitting roar
I admit regret (to self), there
dost belie suppressed yen to pour
out sorrows 'twixt this sole him son,
and long deceased mother, he
deprived her his love and outwore
the Scottish tartan Harris tweed
welcome (haz) mat, which pained
materialized soon after her death, nor
can compensation be made,
now ex post facto,
when futility of spilt tears got more
gauged and swept away, when
nary a trace I privately cried
amidst lachrymose lakeshore.
20/20 hindsight brought me unflagging mast
into stark painful focus,
essentially how mine
formative behavior wrought avast
dystopian emotional fractured mindscape,
which non positive coping methods
lit fuse kindling devastating catastrophic blast
from yesteryear to present silent woebegone
desolate gloomy terrain past
grandeur eclipsed by present gloom
finds yours truly stranded like cast
away bleached flotsam upon coast
amidst tempestuous rocky shoals
clinging for dear life with grasp fast,
Where tenuous, precarious,
and ludicrous ship
of state can no longer maintain
even a marginal grip
but with slight equip
age willing, wedding,
and wanting brings relief from whip
lashed incurred (within body) showing rip
pulled scarred taut welts testimony, sans
long electrified with aggravation,
excruciation, and intoleration can easily flip
a figurative switch in summary
ushering final lip
service to charade,
facade, and masquerade
at lightspeed didst clip
this...Potemkin Village,
where everything "FAKE,"
asper envisioning flickr
ring mirage recounting ancient Egypt!

Political Verse

I turned 18 in 1967 at a time when I could not vote because the required age was 21. The age requirement was lowered to 18 on July 5, 1971. I turned 22 in September of 1971 but became eligible to vote a couple of months prior.
I remember registering to vote and casting my first Presidential ballot in 1976, but do not recall any personal political activity on my part prior to then. I am proud to say that I have been a faithful voter since 1976 and have always believed that one's voice should be heard and not silenced. Right or wrong, red or blue, left or right, for or against, party preference or independent, to be heard and to have our say is the American way.
Realizing the power of 'one vote', to vote is a must; to not vote is not an option. To site just a few '1-vote' decisions, consider the following:* In 1910, a Democratic candidate for New York House of Representatives defeated the Republican incumbent by 1 vote. In 1988, in the Massachusetts Governor's Democratic Primary, the losing candidate lost by 1 vote, and it was his own. He arrived at his precinct a few minutes after the polls closed and wasn't able to vote. In 2002, in the Washington House of Representatives Republican Primary, the race was decided by 1 vote. To make matters worse, a friend of the losing candidate admitted that his ballot was never mailed.
So apart from speaking my veiws and opinions to others, I have been present at the ballot box which is one of the greatest tools for the exercise of one's freedom of speech as an American citizen. For example, in this polical season, after recieving my Vote By Mail Official Ballot, I voted on 02/06/20 and mailed my ballot the next day more than 3 weeks before the primary.
Without question, it greatly matters that we vote and for whom we vote. Our say, our voice, our vote natters. For example. Because of the person I voted for, my vote influenced the release of 52 American citizens in 1981, held hostage in Iran for 444 days. Our vote does not do all that we would like it to do, but it saves lives and does far more than 'a non-casted ballot'.

Bittersweet pyrrhic victory...
if a 2024 November presidential Biden win
pandemonium likely to occur,
subsequently figurative tectonic upheaval
might set United States in a tailspin.
Though discouraged, disenchanted,
disheartened, et cetera Democrat,
I intend to exercise enfranchisement
wherein human made his habitat
within Schwenksville, Penna,
a washed out town with one laundromat
pessimism rains heavy on my heart
reverberating a prominent pitapat
hoping on a broken wing
and a prayer
trumpeting Republican theocrat
blessedly outvoted videre licet
sense and sensibility courtesy electorate.
Yours truly attests the candidate
signified by donkey
the lesser of two evils,
a cruel trick doled out
courtesy fickle finger of fate
braying against lumbering Elephantidae
Thomas Nast of Harper's Weekly
in 1870 he did illustrate
said animals as caricature
he did humorously sketch
though expressing tacit approval
for elder incumbent
octogenarian quintessential statesman,
he (a common gentile Joe)
exhibits the preferred alternative,
though secular Semitic humanist,
I vouchsafe present
commander in chief
bares the sisyphean onus
to foster entente cordiale
among various and sundry
governments linkedin across
the webbed wide world,
particularly vocalizing, orchestrating,
invoking dovish overtures
unnamed politician obligation
his adherents must take a stand
and serve as ambassadors representing
peace and harmony
for instance such as conferring freedom
regarding oppressed Palestinian people
Israel must liberate
allowing, enabling, and providing
their own destiny (lies) to operate
versus being humiliated
courtesy where boot heel diplomacy
of autocrat bully and regulate
every friggin action
brutally commanding, goading,
lording over, et cetera subjects
when, where, and
how to breathe or urinate,
plus current occupant
of Executive Mansion
must not resist
parlaying olive branch,
which amped up energy,
would tax even an envoy
even at her/his prime,
which younger generation
must be entrusted to govern
since four score chronological orbitz
logically, seriously, zealously...
automatically must disqualify
office holder/seeker, whose
emotional, mental, and spiritual fitness
necessitates body, mind, and spirit triage
no more than half life
of aforementioned age,
cuz youth in general,
(and women in particular) bubble
with near boundless energy
regarding promulgating win/win
within realm of conflict resolution
emblematic of Lake Wobegon,
the little town time forgot,
and the decades could not improve .
