When is a newsletter not a newsletter
When it's full colour and 36 pages long
That was 12 years ago when I began designing it
It was a 4-page black and white newsletter
It has since grown into this schmaltzy
Quarterly full colour community publication
I've always taken great pride
In every venture I've become involved with
Now in my years since retirement
Once again had my fingers back in the pie
It has given me “raison d'être”
Translated... “a reason for being”
My only regret is that it's quarterly
Instead of monthly as I would have preferred
It is so very important to remain active
Any way we can in our retirement years
new guy employee
schmaltzy sappy corny too
I am not fooled
The alcea or hollyhock
Waltzers by with a schmaltzy walk
Jasper color facets her stock
Cashet and lock , cashet and lock
Balkers do not alcea breathe,
Masher gives her a sweet reprieve
Upside down petticoats believe
She’s wild and free, she’s wild and free
the many points on paper shed
a life's addled grey matter drawn
the substance he beckons to have read
a fore life's solid matter flown
the conjured ideas contests bring
all the schmaltzy addled chatter
many light bulbs are a dancing
to tongues of core and matter
I put captured ideas to paper
stirring alive with every stroke
to find the day I, the victor
the title of writer's note
Epaulets of schmaltzy eyes set to be so loose
Given a glass of rosewater, its perfect booze!
This cattish damsel in the planetary alignment of swank
Regularly chichi, sometimes bltchy
Never mind, always kind, two-up for a Blanc.
A scene isn’t required in this oratorio of vigorous clap,
Attend our burlesque all graceful, with a strap,
Ready for a striptease of the intellect
In the house of opaque ornaments and frill
No defence, for I've come to kneel
Before the throne thrown a bone
And over it like a dog I bog-in
Committing - a sin after sin.
Where to stop, when to cop?
Though if it is dead when all is said
In the endless abyss of frenzy and tears
I command the battle of no fears
Until the end of Act 1
Stay put, it’s not done!
You’ve moved, you’ve improved
It’s time! It’s time!
The snow white flower
With perfevid redolence
Perfuses the air
Alluring the ambience
With schmaltzy besotted love

a schmaltzy little homily to our successful marriage of 32 & a bit years:
In Our time
We have fathomed
the intricacies
of Measurement
and Angle,
conquered the
Everest of
Plastering
& painted whole worlds
Many colours, many times over.
We have
Mastered the
Logic of tiling,
Plumbed the ancient
Mysteries of water,
Sanded, chiselled, nailed
& screwed to make things fit AND stay there!
Only to discover, at the end
Of all this sweat & toil
That the essence of home-building is…
the Level. @
I was lying on the bed,
staring at the ceiling.
The lines, the corners,
the torned peeling.
Thoughts galore,
wondering how far i have flown.
Life's gonna change soon,
a cacaphony or a croon?
Colleges, classrooms, friends flee,
and although its summer,
feels like cold waves,
shivering me.
The bunkings,the "GTs",
the outdoor excursions.
The Kerwa,the Bhojpur;
the Islamnagar mansions.
The movies,the malls,
the meetings at places,
Slurpy schmaltzy memories
of "faces".
All those rendezvous,
are turning obscure.
The eye's all wet,
as the images conjure.
And now the day's drawing near,
and i doodle in my harrowing fear.
How will life be without you,
I'm absolutely left with no clue.
