you …
sweetly spun me
like sugar into cotton candy -
from a dizzy bobbin
to ornament for a spring willow …
no lament avowed,
for there is a demon in your eyes
whose night blade feeds …
he stalks me -
spurious spear in his grasp
not near as lethal as the shimmer
that winks me from those depths, abyssal
or the tender tendrils, oily black
reaching from the unfathomable fathoms
to sunder my forsaken heart
and turn my marrow
molten … melting …
flesh burning for your arrow -
welts of passion that thirst
to weep crimson
yet not even you can pierce that
hermetic husk …
hardened by casual care,
another’s name,
and the tear-tempered steel
of your bewitching …
gaze.

Her happiness and joy are not contained.
Held frozen with delight of what she sees,
her shaking hands now hide her smiling face
except for twinkling eyes that say it all.
"How can this be?" shows clearly in her eyes.
So many years have passed, yet he is here.
She lived her life with emptiness that led
to days of searching, always unfulfilled.
And here before her, true as true can be,
that part of her she never came to know;
that mystery that robbed her life's full joy,
amazingly appears before her eyes.
Her father who she searched for all her life
now stands in front of her, alive and well.

Saatchi named this painting, "Bliss." I also interpreted surprise and joy on her face before I saw the title.

Light, essence white shines in beauty, eyes green,
human heart, spirit’s hull, please don’t despair,
life, your trials tinctured light-dark I’ve seen..,
you’re never alone; with you I am here.
Mortal being -- sainted soul -- hand in hand,
partnered; life’s pebbled footpaths, we do share.
Someday, we’ll traverse azure’s Promised Land..,
you’re never alone; with you I am here.
Free will; color palette pastel choices,
through hues of happiness or stains of fear,
muted disappointments, rich rejoices..,
you’re never alone; with you I am here.
Each tint a test each shade a solution,
lift song’s surrender to Him in prayer,
till final breath – Divine absolution..,
you’re never alone; with you I am here.
