Rhythm of a River

rambling
   funny waters,
      downward rapidity
of laughter on white water raft.
unintended coxswain gets rogue-wave kissed.
guides directing, this way and that,
      up and down; rowers with
   coarse correction,
rambling.

                            rambling
                        is all he does
           when drunk, which is often;
nothing he says ever makes sense.
don't be surprised if he falls like timber...
you won't get a word in edgewise.
              please, quit the bottle, sir!
                          an expert in
                            rambling

Aches within a torch lit
No match better against the ropes
Longing familiar acrobat events
A dream team fantasy—I am

Premium MemberA Coat For Me

No Way
Too expensive
Buy coats for the children
I will wear mine another year
Yes, a movie star, when I tried it on
My husband talked me into it
Beauty personified
If you insist
I do

Premium MemberMovie Star Wanna-Be

Hagmar
Broken woman
She hangs around the set
She’s a movie star wanna-be
Be friendly, but do not encourage her
A fine well-known producer thinks
She is perfect for a part?
She’ll be ready.
Hey, Mom!

Premium MemberVi, My Neighbor, and Friend

Friend
Funny stories
Great personality
A hilarious memory
Her name was Vi, and she was the best fun!
Alzheimer’s took her brain over.
Dreaded disease for her.
Changed everything

Premium MemberWe Got a Puppy

New Pup

We have her now

Darling, cute and funny

Uh-oh. Look who is not happy

Cat hissed furiously at both of us

Swatted new puppy on the nose

But puppy keeps playing

Does not see cat

Run Pup!

Premium MemberGiggler's

giggle
pop bubbles burst
tears drizzle from crinkles
run down overheated rose cheeks
spit sputtering the side wiggler's guffaw
drop rolling to the greening grass
sibling tormentors tryst
belly bubbler
giggle

on top of the house wail screech shriek

What Makes Me Angry

Silence
from some sponsors,
long pending old contests,
perhaps they have forgotten those,
we are waiting so long for the results,
also those whispering poems
eager to know their fates,

Korman

(Dedicated to Harvey Korman who died May 29, 2008.)

I watched Harvey Korman on the Carol Burnett show.;
That fantastic program was made many years ago.
People all over the world loved to see him act.
He's gone now and nothing can bring him back.
He guest starred on the Munsters once or twice.
We are saying goodbye to this man who was nice.
We've lost this man who was very funny.
Without Korman, the world is less sunny.
He died at the age of eighty-one.
I'm sorry that we lost MR. Korman.
