Rhythmus Poems | Examples

Macaronics, Iambically

You Might agree: Iambic comes from Greek.
Italian Anapesto Also was
originally attic: Clipped and Meek,
the dactyl Acts as opposite, Because
its Rhythmus (German) Is the straight reverse,
runs Opposite, Contains what may be worse,
that’s Not one short, two long. Would you Abort
a poem If it ran one Long, two short?
The Césure (French) is Lame, a rhythm killer,
the Spanish harder Yet – the redondilla!
Form: Acrostic

Love On the Farm

Mucking out and milking we are curds in the churn.
Our house is a blooming belly brimful and snuffling,
feet planted in the green rubber of muddy dawns.

A fox rapturously cherished a hen last night;
brown feathers speckled red fly now on the wind.
The patchy cat watches; it knows that we share
a dream guzzling tractor, with its rhythmus purr.

The tangy beasts are fed, the turkey and goose fatted.
Our meat squeals in the marketplace and struts to auction.
What is not eaten, wallows.
We live thigh deep, grub and plow;
partake in the love of it.

Robust Delirious

Music is a reiteration of self
Humbling a wide selection of conceptions
That trade away masquerades so that the truth will be dealt
It’s shown in my ears, defiance of my peers
Deliver an astonishing attempt
At artful resentment
But
As it goes,
I’d rather uphold my vision of such proceedings
And holster my dumb-droll to the cadence of rest
Rhythmus frivolous destructive creativity ascribed as venomous
But I assert for what its worth it’ll draw a plaid on your shirt
Into your blank-faced words that couldn’t draw upon the surface
What a few detergent rounds could instill into the sound
Note, a voice’s only weakness, it destroys the facetious
Observe

Tanzend

Tanze, tanze,
meine Liebe,
dein Herz tanzt,
dein Haar tanzt,
deine Augen tanzen,
und ich,
ganz nahe,
halte dich in meinen Armen,
meine Liebe,
mit deinem Geruch nach Apfelsinen und Honig.
Uns gehört die Musik,
tanze, tanze,
der Rhythmus trägt uns
mit seinen Armen der Liebe und des Tangos.
Es lebe Carlos Gardel,
mit seinem sonoren Gesang,
mit den Bandoneons der Verrücktheit und der Träume!
Signale der Freude,
Signale lebendiger Musik.
Die Nächte des Tangos lassen uns Fliegen,
wie Vögel ohne Ziel,
fliegen im wilden Takt,
Herz des Teufels der Nacht,
unsere Körper lieben die Musik,
Sterne des Herzens,
Tango der Sehnsüchte,
nächtliche Wünsche,
bekannter Rhythmus
zwischen Liebenden.
Nächte des Tangos,
Nächte der Herzen,
lass unsere Liebe fliegen,
mit den weichen Flügel der Freude.
Der Tango gehört uns,
tanze, mein Herz, tanze.
Lass die Nächte erzittern,
tanzend,
mit der Verrücktheit des Tangos.
