Soul’s creative urge springs forth from our heart,
with childlike intent to sing a love song,
which however no sooner does so start,
wayward ego sounds an ominous gong,
stating head, not heart, is where we belong,
thus strangling the rhythm before it is born,
so what could have been, falls to ego’s scorn
but be this as it may, we have

Oh listen people to my story
And a tale of Christmas glory
It happened in a quiet town
And this is how it all went down

A Stranger who was passing through
With piercing eyes of azure blue
Had met a man who'd reached the end
His broken heart that wouldn't mend

This Stranger who was meek and mild
Found out the man lost

Resurrecting Passion

Last night, while dawn was far away
and rain streaked gray, tumescent skies,
as thunder boomed and lightning railed,
I conjured words, where passion failed...

But, oh, that you were mine tonight,
sprawled in this bed, held in these arms,
your breasts pale baubles in my hands,
our bodies bent to old demands...

Such passions we might resurrect,
if only

Relegated as a minor poet
Longfellow's Psalm
 returns as memory
from a long-ago classroom..
Is it time to look again..?
Two verses may suffice..

In our real experience
dreams and waking
share one reality:
each are manifestations
of the finite mind
which rises within our Self
(and in astonishment
for the material-minded)
are made of our Self..

Indeed..this experience
awakens us from slumber
and at last we discover
things are not

Daedalus claimed the sky,
Built a labyrinth from which
Theseus could fly
...
Minos enraged, entombed the 
Treacherous Daedalus in a tower
No sky could aide the architect’s power

On high
No land, no sea
Gave comfort to the builder's sigh
Would he hopeless entreat the silent sky
Or conquer it within, at least, in his mind’s eye?

"Oh! Screw you!" "Don't want to!" "Take one way to hell!"
But feelings like these fake adults bury deep!
Dad's itching to beat me again I can tell!
No wonder my inner child struggles with sleep?

“Don’t leave me!” “I love you!” “Don’t make me a fool!”
I think that these cries are too little too late!
