Trees

Trees
Some trees are twisted, some wind blown
Tied in knots, grown in stone
Some mere limbs without a leaf
Some majestic beyond belief
Some are grown on mountain tops
Some trees grow amidst our crops
Some are dainty little things
Some are massive, count their rings
Some are covered green with moss
Some so crowded you’ll get lost
Some trees guard a desert plain
Some trees line a Lovers Lane
Some of them are rife with fruit
Some of them just massive root
Some of them are naught but trunk
Some smell sweet, some smell skunk
Some trees give off festive hues
Some trees just obstruct our views
Some trees shelter countless lives
Some trees are well worth the drives
Some trees limbs bow down to earth
Some trees soar for all their worth
Some give shelter, some give shade
All the trees our good God made
And best of all if you ask me
Is God’s gift of my family tree
If you like me applaud God’s gift
Perhaps a prayer you should uplift
For every trunk and every limb
Would be for naught if not for Him

I Pray For Peace

I pray for peace around the world
Each day on bended knee
So why does such a prayer of peace
Go unanswered, answer me
Its not that God doesn’t hear the prayer
He wants the same you see
God prays for peace around the world
Each day on bended knee
But his prayers remain unanswered
For mankind is deafened to his plea

Angels' Wings

To one who has touched angels' wings
From one who still reaches
To one who has learned all there is to know
From one who knowledge beseeches

To one who has attained peace
From one who fights for pride
To one who is stands in the center
From one who sits off to the side

To one who is always carried
From one who must always walk
To one who is always spoken to
From one who must always talk

To one who everyone adores
From one who needs love
To one who is never below
From one who is never above

To one who is perfect
From one makes mistakes
To one who always wins
From one who loses after raising the stakes

To one who always knows
From one who must always learn
To one who never worries
From one who is always concerned

To one who has created the world
From one who lives on this Earth
To one who has never been sad
From one who has never had mirth

To one who always smiles
From one who always frowns
To one who always hears prayers
From one who hears horrid sounds

Hear my prayer to you God
To help me learn Your teachings
To You, who has touched angels’ wings
From me, who is always reaching

Women of Prayer

Women of prayer persevere
because of their love for God,
despite diabolic individuals
and their acts that are no good,
Their faith in the Amighty helps them to
to trample and conquer iniquity,
even when folks try to hide their enmity,
Women of prayer try to rise above the ashes and debris
that others have laid in their path, knowing that God
will vindicate their lives, and subject evil doers to his wrath.

Saint Therese Expires

St. Therese knows the time is near.
She hears my half-flung prayer for you
as you leave for the day. The house
feels worried, cabinets quivering and faucets wailing.
I sit at the kitchen table and open my palm
where I keep my pieces of you --
your mother's pearls, your sister's smile,
and the curve of your jaw in the dark.
St. Therese reaches one hand to me
and we meet as absent sisters.
Our joined hands become an open coffin
and St. Therese expires
as steam on a winter night.
Suddenly alone at our table, I sprout leaves
among our dirty dishes and you
stride back through the empty doorway.
We kneel before the bed
and three sets of lips move in unison.

Born Fallen and Broken

We have all been broken and fallen
Twisted by sin in that way. Our first
Instincts are often negative, that causes
Us to say, and do wrong things day by day.

When we follow our old ways it last only
A while, and gratifies the flesh just the same.
But when we allow Him who came and die in our
Place, to do what we can’t through his grace.

Born broken and fallen is not an excuse, and no
We don’t have to stay that way. His ways are perfect
He sees and knows our flaws. He’s only a prayer away
All said and done in His name is for a worthy cause.

The Thunder - Chapter 13, Verses 14, Holy Koran

Allah deserves their prayer
And whom they pray to besides Allah
Give them no answer.
They are like the one who stretches forth
Two hands towards water
Thinking it may reach the mouth
But it’s a mere madness
And prayer of the unbelievers is fruitless.

Hoping For a Shadow In the Sun

If there´s ever been one there´s been two
Because one cannot have that view
The water still falls
When eyes lose control
And the sun always slips out of view

If there´s ever been one there´s been two
A roman a catholic a jew
A pungent romance
A muslims ignorance
A nazis romance, their beautifull dance
The sun always slips out of view

If there is only one that is true
Then the reason remains askew
If his only dance
Is placing the lance
And hoping to make his way through
Then a laugh is a cry
A gleefull reprise
An escape from the fortune
Contemplated abortion
A hope that the sun shines out of view

When the one and the one are now two
The reasons that pushed, pull them through
the sun opens its eyes
looks for truth it despised
And searches for the sky it once knew

It only takes one to make two
A wing, a prayer and a shoe
A beautifull emblem
A time for remembrance
What it takes to kill one it takes two

Good Morning Lord Jesus!

Good morning Lord Jesus,
With you I'll start my day.
Reading your word for direction,
So I can walk in your way.

To start each morning,
In prayer and meditation.
Talking and listening,
A two-way conversation.

To lay at your feet,
All that I am.
So I can be your servant,
To every child, woman, and man.

As the day goes on,
Together we will face.
Those trials and temptations,
That could bring me disgrace.

At the end of the day,
I'll take time to reflect.
Confessing my sins and failures,
Your forgiveness I'll not reject!

Neal A. Carl

Enlightened

There’s no hope for humanity
A half-wit would think otherwise.
Collective Christianity
With its many brethren allies
Have failed its purpose for Christ’s sake!
With their arsenal of prayer beads,
Missals and psalms- they are opaque
Tools employed that never succeeds
In changing the nature of Man:
He is still greedy and hostile
Unchanged since first set foot on land
They’re members of this rank and file:
A congregate hypocrisy
Only the enlightened can see.
