I woke in a pool of befuddlement
was I still alive?
or was this death?
my heart was rapidly revolving
as if I had run the Boston marathon.
I felt discombobulated
since that loud gasp
when my soul reentered my body
hitting my chest full on
re-entry is difficult for us astral travelers.

My words of love are just flowing out
An unending stream of passion
You've reentered my life of ups and downs
My joy is no longer rationed
A most fortunate soul to say the least
So many have felt this euphoria
Almost too much for my poor heart to take
It's literally phantasmagoria
Before I pass on if there's any love justice
I'll caress you one more time
And feel the warmth of your tender soul
To know that feeling divine
At the risk of repeating it too many times
I'll love you to the ends of the earth
This feeling inside to the depth of my soul
Can't describe how much it's worth

That pit in my soul…
a space left unfilled
The harder I struggle,
the deeper it drills
Its emptiness constant,
dominion unsure
A puppet on tethers,
with vacuum secured
One choice left unspoken,
whose die never cast
To reach through the darkness,
the blindness unmasked
A backfill is starting,
my cavern relines
The light has reentered
—new future defined

mind song riffs
joining the back beat
nature clicks
timpani
drums of black thunder
percuss
then the sky opens
a luminous landing
off gasses from the heat shield
rainbow across a spectrum of light
Cam’s Glieseian tongue flew over the
surface of the audio generator
Voyager’s golden disk long gone now
transposes across a film of galactic plasma
the taste of whale and bird song they tongue
enthralls them—though they had no notion of
whales or birds
mind song cascades, scrolls, behind the visitors opaque orbs
joining the back beat nature clicks woodpecker tunes
tympanic membranes shiver upon
retractable body hair
drums of black thunder roll
past helmetless crowns
percussing their brain stems
orgasmically
then the sky opens
Sol’s a black dwarf they are too late
but still the songs sang
Cam tongued the plasma film
once more then reentered interstellar
hibernation

rekindles
beauty once shared
love
This poem is dedicated to a very special lady who was reentered my life. Thank you for allowing me to see all your beauty again.

hidden
behind the veil
still waiting to be seen
glimpses of beauty reserved for
one ... me

I was in a cave, it was vivid and dark
I remember it to this day
The day I started to pray
Pray that life wouldn't stop
Pray that the reaper wouldn't find me
Pray that the vultures wouldn't come and find the cave
Pray that life wouldn't have so much pain
I exited the cave that very night
And reentered reality with a fright
And then I realized that life goes on
And eventually, I will be the only one

Deep in the desert
Where the sun shines
Bright and hard
Lived a little flower
Pale as the sand
It stood bravely
The sun beat on it
The wind blew in it
The heat almost
Took the life out of it
But there it stood
In the clear night
Beneath the canopy
Of thousand of stars
Morning brought a traveler
From some place afar
He stopped by the plant
To wash himself
Few drops spilled over
To the pale flower beneath
A shiver went thru’ her
And tremblingly she unfolded
A few more drops
And the petals
Stretched themselves
Hesitantly, tremblingly
As if some force
Pushing them out
Of her dream of death
Eternity, holds her breath
The pretty petals
What a sight to behold
Seemed to be overwhelmed
By unstoppable madness
A little place
Of sensual joy
Thus life reentered
Joyously
What a moment ago
Had been dead
Entered it visibly
Passionately
In all its glory
The wayfarer
Looked down with a start
As if surprised
To see such beauty
In the barren desert
Bent down
And plucked the flower
And put it against his heart
And there she can
Be seen now
Happily riding away.
