Drifting, drifting we float, in azure abysses aglow
Drifting, drifting we glide, amidst aquatic artistry's flow
Drifting, drifting we go, where coral constellations grow
Swimming, swimming we surge, through sapphire seas serene
Swimming, swimming we swirl, where silent symphonies convene
Swimming, swimming we soar, as shimmering schools careen
Deeper, deeper we dive, discovering diverse domains
Deeper, deeper we delve, dreaming in diaphanous depths
Deeper, deeper we descend, dazzled by dappled daylight
Floating, floating we flit, through fragments of fantasies
Floating, floating we flow, as bubbles burst and breathe
Floating, floating we fly, transcending terrestrial ties
Marvelling, marvelling we move, in liquid labyrinths vast
Marvelling, marvelling we muse, on unity unsurpassed
Marvelling, marvelling we merge, with mysteries unsurpassed
Surfacing, surfacing we rise, souls saturated, serene
Surfacing, surfacing we return, beauty-filled, breathless, keen
Surfacing, surfacing we emerge, coral's call echoing between

Sunbeams, like kisses, touch the sea,
A hidden world bursts into glee.
Coral castles, grand and bright,
Hug the ocean floor, bathed in light.

Giant red sea urchins piled high on a dock.
Still live, their spines wave, beckoning me.
Soon to be processed as haute cuisine stock,
Then sent to Japan to make roe puree.
It is sad to see these poor little guys.
They move with intention to find the Sea.
Too bad that their taste tends to tantalize
The overall fondness for good sushi.
Gone are their days of clearing the algae,
Which urchins eat, and coral reefs protect.
Next time you take a bite of that sushi,
Consider how food and Nature connect.

Hawksbill Turtles are listed as, critically endangered
For 100 million years, they have traveled through tropical seas
looking for food, a play mate and a birth place that is great
as their gene of navigation, is their lifetime information
Sea Turtles help to maintain, the health of coral reefs
by eating the sponges, from the surfaces of reefs
They also eat jellyfish, with a narrow-pointed beak
to extract an exotic dish, so they don’t become weak
Human activities have taken their eggs, meat, skin, and shells
and being caught up in fishing gear, and nasty fishing hooks
has depleted their numbers, all created by the human cartels
ana the high temperatures, depleting the male history books

Take a stand and save the world
Recycle that plastic bottle
Help clean up the ocean
And join in the battle
Reduce your use of single use
Commit to end the waste
Reduce the ocean garbage patch
Deliberately make haste
The coral reefs are dying
All around the world
In twenty years they might be gone
If we remain unconcerned
So take a stand and pick it up
Buy yourself a reusable cup

The sleeping sky is cloudy
And creates a veil over the lying minds.
Like a festival, the cemetery is alluded,
And turns to a hunting ground.
Open Graves and pits -
They lived.
Crowd of faces in their shades,
To amaze those preys.
Reefs and sheets they laid
On the unseen skins of the deceased
To commemorate their ways,
In spite of the deaths unperceived.
Decorating - they decorate the undecorated,
Whose lives cannot be consecrated.
The clock ticks, and time's fastened
In memories imprisoned.
Candles that could not light
Their lives any longer,
Cries that won't see them in tight;
Yet, they restitute their hunger.
They, lying there wished to smile,
But are thousand miles -
Though sighed at the benevolent pride,
But embraced their newest mild.

Ever since we went our separate ways
I have been missing you as the day goes by
my love for you still amplifies my heart
like the currents of the ocean
You always knew we were both
a perfect match made in paradise
and all we had were plans and dreams
but the Great Barrier Reef that grew between us
decided our love was never meant to be
when the forces of the waves and tides built up and grew
and swept you from out of my arms
leaving me stranded on one side of the land
while you are left stranded across the way
separated by that Great Barrier Reef
and the Tongue of The Ocean
still pondering the odds of our imminent reunion

A Native of Florida's Reefs
I am the native of the Florida Keys and Bahamas
People here call me mero and not goliath grouper
Once a scuba diver caught and held me beside the boat
Half out of water with hook in corner of my mouth.
Looked at my five-haired beard trailing from aching jaw
Brown skin hanging in strips like ancient wallpaper
Shaped like full-blown roses stained and lost in age
Was frightened by gills breathing in terrible oxygen.
He gazed and gazed with pride and triumph in eyes
Don’t know what happened to him, he let me go!.
I was only six years then and got a long life of fifty
Travelling to Flamingo and Shark River, our Mecca.
Wonder as scuba divers are not seen in native waters
As to catch us in US waters has been declared illegal
