Get out of the race, you can’t control the pace. You’re trying too hard
to finish first in a competition that has no composition. Forget
what has been programmed to stay, it is no longer the day. Feel relief
as you let go and pull back, move away from the attack. Smile and
watch what happens to your mind; now leave the baggage behind,
for there is no change in time. Don’t give in to temptation, it is only
manipulation. They play for the other team, so stick to your dream.
The weight you put around your neck reject, stand tall above all. We
only need to fit in from within. Look for good news and waste no time
to bad. Don’t be mad; don’t be sad, just be glad you can’t be had.
I ran the rat race
Tried to keep a steady pace
But fell on my face
Friday is really Monday
But for Earth's sake, let's talk Monday
The day after Sunday
We all know, that one day
That stereotypically they dread
It's truly all in one's head
I adjusted so I'd want to get outta bed
Made Sunday set the tone & Monday move slow-mo Instead
But if you're in the race of rats
And today marks the day you're back
to the hustle, bustle, and maybe a tussle,
that may make you feel like crap
Know that you're important, finding your purpose
Giving an effort, you rock!
You're responsible and caring, to an extent,
you're more than that time-clock
Have a great day! Have a great shift!
Even if it's not your dream job, you're such a gift!
You are enjoying, exploring, and working this journey
and you know how to adjust and switch.
Just know, today you are someone's inspiration
So keep going. You are appreciated.
Some Monday Motivation
XO GU
Not knowing why
We still join rat race,
In wanderlust
We add one more face,
Post many births
Gained we’d a good house,
Left it foul oh
With our wicked grace!

Free verse |03.05.2022|
In his mind he makes his plans
So many things he'll do
To finish each and every one
He'd surely need four hands
He starts his day, but right away
He senses he's in trouble
Yet instead of scaling back a bit
His maniacal pace is redoubled
By noon he's gassed and at wit's end
How will everything get done
Panicked, he decides to skip his lunch
Make a desperate afternoon run
At 3:00 p.m. he sees it's hopeless
He'll never win the battle
It dawns on him his quest's insane
The finish line a death rattle
Feather
Life has it's moments
You know, good and the bad
But some of the best times I've ever had
Are those when I've stopped
At the side of the race
And taken a breath
Felt the sun on my face.
For the people that rush,
And yes there are plenty,
Are the fools being chased by a life that is empty
To stop and face fears
That your missing 'the next'
Will keep you from being
Confused and perplexed
My story is such
I can testify this..
There's a peaceful encounter
A place to find bliss
And it sits in our hearts
Somewhere way deep inside
But to find it you stop, rest and
Step off that ride
Like a feather it settles
Bringing purpose in beauty
So our eyes see the wonder
Of those things that were blurry
It's the secret of stillness
It's the hope in our hearts
It's the sapling that rises
From precious seeds planted
Way at the start.
And I cannot be stronger
With my words to you now..
There are times when life's storms
Cause the strong trees to bow.
But in stillness and presence
We learn quietly how..
To eliminate hurry
And be present to now
The tickling watches, the shaking legs,
Minds full with silent cries and begs
Hearts are homes
Where the oil is ceaseless impatience,
And neighbours – the anxious ancestors.
The dreams, the love, the perfection,
All blur.
The waiting, waiting and waiting,
In this bewildering times they all were!
It’s a road not unique,
It’s a road they all walk,
The roads with the same lock.
In the universe which was parallel,
They all set a paradise in their own barrel!
But how to walk the road?
To pedal, crawl, jog, jump or travel on a plane aboard?
The waiting is the HOW.
The waiting is the WHEN.
The waiting is the room,
Where all have pitched their tents.
It’s so disheartening how figuring everything out
Is the air to us.
It’s so dis-illusionary why even our luxury
Is to get it ALL FIGURED OUT!
Letting life be life,
Why shape it into a casket of perfection,
Why not mould it into hope,
Not curiosity.
To all on-board this road,
Let’s give the permission for life to flow,
Let it carve out its own roller coaster ride
Let life be life,
Paving way for it to groom,
And not the bleeding, fearing, woeful waiting room!
They don't call it the old rat race
~ on account of its furious pace
Drifting alive, waves of human tide,
money and power slaves nine to five
project deadlines nauseate in stress
endless chase, mortgages magnified.
Vacillating minds, weary woes abide
big cars whiff smoke on sullen faces.
insidious pressure, to be a 'someone'
mad huff and puff, passion slowly died.
Fake hierarchy walls , anonymous pride
unreachable goals, on invisible horizon
Don't know who am I ,Where am I going?
hare has turned a horse , the tortoise cried
A mimic in frenetic , never satisfied,
It's a Rat's Race , a finish line of cower
Pied Piper in bend,..the chariot guide.

Contest Name Lines to Awaken Your Muse 2
Based on the following line:
Down the street as I was drifting with the city's human tide.
You follow the rat races,
Climbing ladders that never end,
Surrounded by faces,
But not one you could call friend,
You stare hungrily at your reflection,
Picking apart your every inch,
Believing beauty leads to connection,
But would it save you in a pinch?
You spend like there's no tomorrow,
Yet for the poor you've naught to spare,
But if it became your turn to borrow,
Would it shock you when none will care,
You trust blindly in your societies,
That if you do it all you will win,
But you end up drowning in anxieties,
From the emptiness you feel within.
Lab Rat Race -
Well it’s a hard pill to swallow
that we aren’t promised tomorrow;
but the rent is still due today.
Sure, you’re losing your mind
but you still made it to work on time;
That’s just the nature of the rat race.
Corporate Boss treats you
like you’re nothing but mere profit.
Remind him of your name,
I bet he’s already forgot it.
Who did he impress
to get a corner office?
Maybe he sold his soul
or maybe he just lost it.
Guess that’s the price you have to pay
to send your kids to college.
That’s enough to break a spirit, I’d say.
Roger from marketing is on line two,
selling his pitch for the cure to all their sorrows.
“It’ll take the edge off of existence.
Don’t mind the long list
of warnings in lighter ink that follows.”
“Worst case scenario, you lose your mind forever.
A price they’re willing to pay
just to possibly feel better.”
That’s a cruel way to fill your pockets, I’d say.
Coupes skimming fly, gently humming of engines and tires.
Listen closer, and hum turns to cheetah’s roar, pushing for
A harder pace, an impact-- No achievement is frictionless.
Jaguars leap and bound, a mile-a-minute, sometimes more.
The roads are not sky but earthy jungle, fighting for the fittest.
Who craves Icarus
Shall fall once more to Earth
For what goes up, must...
for years
and years
i've been
running
this tread
mill
if i knew
i was in a
race just to
produce
electricity for
you
i would have
hooked the
battery to
my brain
and have
run
myself
insane
with volts
of bolts of
electro
shock
therapy
but instead
i ran and
then
one
day
hopped
off and
let you
instead
become
insane
trying to keep
an adagio beat
with my heart
and my feet
but modern day
technology has
me skitzo in a
scherzo only
wanting to
share my
thematic
views with
you and my
attitude has
become some
what ugly as i
try the tempo to
slow down even
slower then what
you make my
heart beat but
there is a true
challenge to
keep my rhythm
at a given speed
when i see you
i want to
rabbit
The finish line for the
rat-race speeds ever ahead of
its leaders;
brilliantly ruthless people;
brilliant and myopic.
One by one they will
drop out of the race;
drop down.
Today’s leaders will not be
in the race tomorrow.
The wolves snapping at their
heels would have
taken over.
And, behind,
receding rapidly, to the
horizon, will be their
grand mausoleums.
