queenie harlems queen of crime
ran the neighborhood
dressing to the nines
a civil rights activist
financial wizard
she taunted gangsters
to steal her territory
in newspaper ads
a gang war ensued
forty people were left dead
killer queen escaped

We are in a mournful mood this morn,
Queenie my friends cat is dead.
Overfed its fatty heart gave up.
For days it had been hiding in a box
dreaming of chasing mice
but now only dream-mice remain
to sing of her passing.
We are all distraught, some plainly overwrought;
for in cat and doggy years she was only 96.
The pageantry of her feline majesty
has us all held in obsequious awe.
If only I had been more kind,
more aware of her royal soul,
instead I flung a slipper at her
as she catcalled for a secret lover,
a noble cat who reigned not far
from here.

Their daughter was a tiny wisp of a thing
And boy, could that charming five-year-old sing!
She out sang everyone in our pew.
Her melodious voice was pure too.
Their daughter was called Queenie.
Her personality was anything but teeny.
Our entire Methodist church rallied around her.
She was so sweet, amazingly godly and pure.
Queenie went to heaven on a summer’s day.
That horrible thing called cancer took her away.
I had a dream and I saw her walking on wings of a dove.
This helped me know she was safe in the arms of God above.

Rapspin Rockshere
Where did you get
Them jammies from
If jam on rapping swing
And sing to articulate
Hey Getwiffya you
Gone let me stank
Day up?
Gobble ain't got nothing
He can't have
What makes you
Wanna ph@ck?
Gibble Dribble say
We in love
And let me do
My thing!
Talking sweet, might
Help you get it on
Just go buy the ring!

Queenie Meg went to Winnipeg
And she dropped off on a powder keg
But there near The Forks
Stood the megadorks
They said," She did it is for a gag".

Father, I know the airs are not always safe or fine
For Queenies as gorgeous as that treasured mine,
Behold now she departs to Dallas in the expansive Texas,
And I pray that you calm her reportedly nervous plexus.
From Dallas she’ll like a hawk pierce the crisp jealous air
To London, and perhaps enjoy some cold Coke there;
Please throughout her cruise guard her from the danger
Of troubled clouds and the ogling of some lustful stranger.
Fit to depart for the homely Nairobi keep her.
And seeing how you’ve brought her from far,
I’ll before you bow on a trembling bended knee
And thank you for bringing her safe to me…
I beg please rebuke her ever changing doubting mind
And remember to remind her that indeed love is blind;
Let her sweetened honey-pot and all ever be mine -
To savor and to kiss, and to tingle her delicate spine.
Amen!

A tiny bundle of fur a few weeks old
One little pup who missed siblings and whined
Many memories of you my life holds
A scar from the canned food on which you dined
Running and playing side by side those months
Until you were old enough to learn your job
Dad got my pet to herd the cows on paths
Not with the rich and famous to hobnob
When free we would walk down those dusty roads
Safe was the feeling when in your presence
Free from concern about the wood's heavy loads
Beside me each time truly a pleasance
Queenie so long ago your life ended
My awesome pet left memories splendid

When Shep died I was heartbroken and sick,
how could any dog ever replace shep?
I didn't want a dog, but after a while I knew
that a dog is just what I wanted.
Found this little black puppy, so cute
and cuddly. A black lab-mix and what a
dog she was, so smart and very lovable.
I learned to love this dog very soon,
she had her shots they told me,
so I took their word for it.
Queenie followed me all over the yard,
the way shep use to do. I trained her to do
some simple tricks which she learned so fast.
After around 8 months she got real sick, she
stopped eating, I took her to the vet and
he told me that she had distemper, I told him
that she had her shots and he told me,
that the shots sometimes don't always work.
A few days later she died, I was once again
heart broken, but later in life I was to find out
that death is just part of life, we need to enjoy
our pets while we can.
I buried her next to shep between the two
trees, she is still there 50 years later,
and I am still thinking about that dear
little dog that I had, she was so sweet
and loyal to me.
