If Not For Love

The little child who cries,
brushing sleep from startled eyes,
might not have awakened from her dreams
to fill the night with plaintive screams
if not for love.

The little collie pup
who tore the sofa up
and pleads here in a mournful crouch,
might not have ripped apart the couch
if not for love.

and a nasty bark
he finds chasing cats ecstatic

I would say 
to you cats today
get plenty of rest you’ll need it

On a pretty funny note

My Pup

my pup is growing
milk teeth found in his blanket
his new bite will hurt

pup transforms pristine pool into a mudhole

pristine clean water
swimming pool for two fun dogs
retrievers mudhole

puts in rocks and clay
thick enough for mudpies now
brother drinks his fill

I want to be a pup

dog drops like an old bag of bones
tail chasing finished for now
he snores and gasps in monotones
I’ll come back as a pup next life, I vow

One Faithful Friend

Tiny pink flower, so alone, 
In verdant fields, how you've grown. 
                   No hands to nourish, none to tend,
We all long for one faithful friend.

Just a single cloud in the sky,

Pip had gifted the gig wet smelly poop
Made Anna gag as she shoveled each scoop
At an abnormal level
A proud deed for this devil
For its contents were like newt eye

You Had To Bring Her a Wolf Pup

When Daddy brought Serena a wolf pup
He did not realize what would happen
When the pup grew up and became her guardian

Serena did not have to do her homework or wash dishes.
If they mentioned it, Gray Wolf would growl a warning
Her parents had never been bitten
