Good health is expensive

In the market of choices, we're faced with a test,
Between health and affordability, which one to invest?
Fresh fruits and greens, a pricey delight,
While processed snacks and sweets, shine with cheaper light.

The junk food aisles, a treasure to behold,
Cheap and tempting treats, that our taste buds are told.
But at what cost, dear health, do we indulge and play,
Trading wellness for pennies, in a harmful, tasty way?

The irony of economics, that governs our plate,
Where healthy choices are costly, and junk food is first-rate.
But let's not be fooled, by the price tag's disguise,
For good health is worth every penny, and a wise, lifelong surprise.

So let's invest in our well-being, and make a conscious choice,
To prioritize our health, and rejoice in a wholesome voice.
For though it may seem pricey, the cost of healthy living is true,
A valuable investment, in a life that's vibrant, and anew.

Premium MemberHabemus Novum Papam

Yes, indeed we have a new Pope.
I wonder, however, if we have a new hope.
As a matter of facts, we have two popes:
One is active and the other is passive,
Which means that one is inactive,
The latter was a hell of a man who shocked: folks,
Foes, rivals, parishioners and cardinals,
By resigning his post,
By becoming a different host.
He is still a holy man, in accordance to the latest polls,
A courageous priest, who reminds us,
That man is immortal and fallible.

Pope Benedict is enjoying his golden hiatus,
His retirement in a humanely divine castle.
I don't know much about the new one.
I can only hope that he is someone,
Who's at least similar or equal,
To the former, who was wise and simple.
May God bless his soul,
‘Cause he was able to realize
That he was becoming unable
To lead effectively, and to prioritize.
As a matter of facts, habemus duo popes,
Yes, indeed, habemus duo pontifices.

I am my own confidant
I breathe with my own lungs
I learn with my own mind
I chose a partner with my own heart
Although I still depend on other necessities
Food and rice are cultivated by farmers
Clothing is fashioned by tailors
Vehicles are produced by manufacturers
Houses are constructed by carpenters
Medicine is prepared by doctors
Even the restroom is provided by others

People from all nations and religions
Create meaningful things to share
Support and love one another
Only a few leaders are cruel and selfish
They view themselves as superior to others
They do not prioritize living in peace
Embrace immorality and wage brutal wars

February 14th

In a world of festivities, we prioritize the frivolous,
Elevating Valentine's Day, a celebration quite dubious.

February 14th, a day assigned to love's display,
Yet, I refute this notion, for love should be everyday.

In my culture, this celebration reeks of absurdity,
Promoting premature sexuality, a moral calamity.

Should we allocate a day for love's celebration?
Does this imply we've been fostering hatred in iteration?

Even young learners, grades 6 and above, are caught,
In the web of crushes, a trend that's quite distraught.

In Africa, hotel rooms are booked, a Valentine's spree,
Teenagers dominate, leaving one to ponder the decree.

Are we more Catholic than the Pope, in our fervor and zeal?
Valentine's Day, a celebration that love's true meaning does conceal.

So, if you choose to celebrate, do so with reverence and might,
Upholding cultural heritage, and the sanctity of love's light.

Let organizations, schools, and families unite,
Educating teenagers on the dangers of sexual abuse, a love that's not right.

Watering myself

When you think about when’s the last time you’ve done something for yourself does it take you a while to remember?
Are you always looking around to focus on being there for others?
It is nice to have people that are there and you can be there for each other
I don’t see nothing wrong with watering myself
Loving myself
My mind body and soul deserves to be treated well
It’s my job to make sure all of those are doing well
My cup have spilleth over
All of this love I have within me has runneth over
You can hear it while it spills drop by drop
I’m being selfish with all of this love I have within me
My soul deserves to be at peace
No one will prioritize me better than me
So please don’t take it personal while I’m watering me
I love me
Watering myself will pay off in the long run just wait and see
Get ready to meet a new and better version of me

STOP! OR ELSE

Glaring oracles, suspended high above the asphalt,
Imperiously commanding reckless drivers to a sharp halt.
Defenestrate the folly of haste, oblivious to the signals,
Prioritize life over velocity and frivolous giggles.

Back to one

Back to one
It weren't much fun
It cost too much
In time and such
It made me feel
This pain were real
I've had enough
Let go of this stuff
Flow and flux
Through ever-changing muck
Your freedom is here
Your strength will persevere.
Let loose from your weight
Drop all the pain and hate
Forgive yourself the shame
Of the lessons you had to claim
Understand in this mosaic
Most of it is archaic
Actions set in motion, far before our time
It is not necessary to carry all that blame.
Find the world again thru awe
Choose love and forgive all
Included is yourself
You made it through much hell
You've lived to stand again
Today be your own best friend
Prioritize yourself and
Make love your truth and wealth.

Untitled

For there are things I've done to you
A reflection of me
But let the thought alone
Let it be

Oh, I wish it was
A yearn in my heart
A smell, like I'm drunk
The taste of this love tastes so good to me
The touch of this cloth, so thick, so pristine
The way I feel inside has become so bubbly
But let the thought alone
Just let it be

I try but I can't
Prioritize the time
Think about it all day
When will I get what's mine?
Dissocialized from the world
Twirl my hair into a curl
Feet floating and mind elsewhere
Just to be here, is it so bad really?
Yes
It was
So I let the thought alone
I just let it be

Premium MemberIt's Okay

It's okay to say no and carry on your way..
Know that you are worthy, don't heed what others say.
Some will take advantage, and steal your precious time..
It's time to prioritize your own peace of mind.

No need to explain or defend, your needs are worthy of care.
You've given more than enough, this we can declare.
Let go of guilt, welcome self-respect, and honour your own self-love.
Grant yourself the power to choose, and recall all you've read from above.
