A lazy me has ignored my Taiji sword long
For work I still to the Presidio march on
From buildings I watch the white waves of the sea
From sand beaches I hear them as well as the seals
On Soldier Field, a parade of troops I can see
Years passed by as fast as an arrow
Surprising how much white hair I grow
Too many vexing thoughts in my mind
I doubt I’m a man of scholastic kind
In life I’ve been but a man blind

The dark day has come
As we stand on Presidio Banks
We cry
Towards the sea
The waves
Just... so grey
The look on the faces
So grave
As we mourn the losses of today
The songs start to play
The oceans waves
And we do the same
We say our goodbyes
Then look towards the sky
As the darkness beings to face
The clouds drift
Like the cars pulling away
But I stand knowing
This is no dark day
The days will fade
And so will the years
But not what I hold dear
I will remember this day
As a sight to be amazed
Because I saw
The burial on presidio banks

San Francisco
Presidio Terrace
Where new home sat.
My father
Peruvian Consul,
Myself
A two year old
Brat.
Wobbly I walk
Childish noises
My talk,
The challenge were
The stairs.
How can I roll down
Belly side
Slide dive
Until I hit the ground?
Never dove alone
Down the stairs
My consulate home.
Bright light
Holy Child
Open arms
Guarded my way.
Words not exchanged
Only love gaze
Until I wobbled
Back up again
Thanks to my heavenly friend
For another day.
