The intrepid Admiral David Farragut during the Battle of Mobile Bay,
Urged his hapless seamen to battle with these immortal words that day:
"DAMN THE TORPODEOS - FULL SPEED AHEAD!"
Easy for you to say, Admiral! (Who was safely ensconced in the 'head'!

Preoccupation
The brain is a miraculous oddity
Roaming at will, out to play,
But returning to sober reality,
Preoccupation stilled for focusing
On the must-dos of the day.
Ah, but then there is that flower,
That beautiful bromeliad,
And the mind preoccupies to the child
Who thought it would make her glad.
Repot it to a larger container
And she’s diverted to that task,
And the chicken breasts remain uncooked,
The brain is a miraculous oddity.
Where is the potting soil?
Preoccupying itself with raw chicken,
While the house goes unkempt,
Wandering to wonder where is the parchment,
Humming a song about children and flowers.
The brain is a miraculous oddity.

The United Kingdom – which direction?
Is there any detection
Of a slight hesitation
As all this political diction
Is becoming an addiction
HardBrexit, a continual affixation
A convulsive sensation
A preoccupation
A bloggers’ fixation
Journalists’ devoration
No time for devocation
Unable to form an illation
Or a resolute speculation
Submitting to trepidation
For our Nation
There is no sedation
To the daily news digestion
Just a torrent of unanswered questions
And a snap General Election

I search for you eagerly
in the shadows of your words
hoping to find the meaning I desire.
In the love-glens of my fading memory
smoldering ashes of distant fires linger,
glimpses of you with deep-rouged cheeks.
Mere recollection of your scent assassinates
my heart.
Across the vast wilderness of separate lives we’ve wandered
apart
crippled by our moments in other lovers' arms.
Do we share desire?
Is it too late?
I search for you eagerly,
in the shadows of your words.

Having stood the test of time
and coped with life’s demands
priorities are set on time
to equate with the age to come.
It’s beyond death that signifies
where an individual complies
to ensure that God may call
those who heed his invitation.
Money, fame, power and prestige,
these are villains to perfection
once that sense of focus remains
God matters all in preparation.
Stories in the bible and this generation
are swamped with moral insinuations;
where corruptions and imperfections
continue to showcase their pictures.
These may be signs of revelations
unfolding the Lord in his eschaton
on the clouds with power and transformation
judgment will take place before all creation.
The prophets of old like Jeremiah and Ezekiel
foretold destruction and other examples
Jesus and the writers of Sacred Scriptures
have commonality of apocalyptic visions.
With many comings and interpretations,
Jesus has his own framework of consummation.
Hope speaks at length through inspiration
Parallel to history of our salvation;
It’s the end of time – a Messianic time
that captures the headlines of all land.
