Do remind me how comments feed poets' souls

P.S. This is a thank you poem to those who read and comment to encourage me. REQUEST: Please comment especially on poets who have few readers or fewer comments, or may be new. I encouraged a new PS Poet from Andorra last week, but I did not understand the poem or language (Celtic?). I don't expect any response, but I'm glad we have poets from so many unusual places with talent & Ubuntu. Deo

PPS. I could not fix errors in my post, or edit ( until now), because our power supply in my province in RSA,vwas disrupted ( by supplier ESKOM) for 6 hours: Stage 6 loadshedding. FYI or shock, Google, "RSA: electricity, Eskom, corruption, death threats." See?

I live on the West Coast
and I try not to boast

But we've no real need
  for highly coveted 'PPE'

Out here it's not news
  that the problem's not flus

It's the darned ubiquitous poop
~ We need Poop Protection Scoops!

The Old Oak Tree and Me

It’s stood there on its roots for years
Through winters, summers, springs and falls
And helped beautify the hillsides
When each spring it grew its oak leaves.

But, then a highway was built near
To where it always had called home,
Cut off its water underground
And it could not do naught but die.

So, now it stands without a leaf
And I feel just as old as it.
For my time too, is coming round
When we shall both meet in the ground.

I Had a Dream

I had a dream, a pleasant dream,
A dream in which was only peace…
No wars, no hate, no crime, no tears,
Only peace each day for men.

All evil ways were cast away
And only good deeds did man do.
No one went hungry, all were filled
With good fresh food each man grew.

Then came a time… I had to go…
Return to living life for real.
So, I awoke to singing birds
And two men outside fighting.

Some harbor ships were blaring roars,
Off loading, loading at their docks
And morning traffic beeped and honked.
I said to me…“Welcome home!”

A Rdf Day - Rain, Drizzle Foggy

It was a foggy, rainy day,
Slight breezes skipped across the bay,
Touched the shorelines and the hills,
Across the fields, buffing houses
And chilled us to our bones.

I and my brother Gerry were
Playing outside and came back in,
It being too chilly to play.
So ,we took out our toys and games,
Begging the sun to shine.

But, dark clouds would not let it shine
And wet rains kept on pouring down.
So, we played trivial pursuit,
Monopoly and cribbage games…
Waiting for tomorrow.

* Anyone interested can go to google and ask
to see photos of Egyptian curved knives and
you shall find this one within. It is shape so my
friends..I do hope that you enjoy....mi

P.S. the pharaohs commanded the slaves to
carve or they would meet the above

P.P.S. Please take notice of the, "y" on the
seventh stanza..on my Micro word it was
emphatically the curve to the "y" to give
the authentic dagger look...unlike here on
the Poetry Soup....lol
